He is so interested in Cassio because he is mates with Cassio's agent - same deal as with Doddgy's. Frankly a rolling 12 contract for Cassio sounds like an excellent deal for both him and the club.

I'm going to get the same BS here but as someon who puts her money where her mouth is I'd like to have my say on Beckham

I want him in a Reds shirt, to lift our crows to lift worldwide exposure & bring in revenue we can dream of -you seen what ADP will for Sydney and will be 1000x more because unlike the sky blues our team can play.

I'd like us to be bold and daring for once - not for anything but this - after 9 years close enough seems good enough as a team & as a club for AU and it shouldn be...EVER!

Its interesting most reds fans dont much care about getting beckam compared to other clubs, to me it shows football is most important.

Personally i dont want him, there is no way we could make that money back, the stadium is only 16500 capacity. Its also a huge disruption to our midfield and is ten games less for our mids to gel together for the finals.

I dont know about anyone else but id rather trophies then gimmicks. If i want a gimmick ill switch over to fox8 to WWE.

IF the owners could go to the State Government and say 'Hey, you paid millions of dollars for that cheat Lance Armstrong to come here...why not come to the party for Beckham and REALLY put the city on the map?' then I can see the commercial and advertising benefits of it.

Imagine this scenario - Beckham comes to Australia, his family lives in Sydney, he flies over for the main training sessions during the week (2 hours commute is nothing) then when Van Dijk leaves in the January transfer window, he signs up for the rest of the year, replacing Sergio as our marquee.

You'd get 17,500k every week guaranteed, sell tons of shirts and other merchandise etc. Romario didn't work because we were playing a different style of football that wasn't suited to his strengths - the football we play now, I could see Beckham fitting in quite well. I say at least make some inquiries - talking doesn't hurt at all.

I would love to see David Beckham or the like on the pitch for Adelaide. However Beckham is a huge celebrity and would bring with him a circus that I am not a fan of.
Everything the club does it needs to be financially sound unless you want the club to go broke or you expect rich people to put millions into the club just because they want to.
I think the club has done very well with the imports. Jeronimo and Carrusca are quality players in the A-league and could very well end up winnings the competition with the team. Cassio was a great pickup for the club.
A guest player will not play the finals so if a team relies on a star guest player and then has to play the finals without them they may very well struggle.
I am very happy with the clubs recruitment, it has built a very good A-league team which could win trophies this year, at this stage of the season I am not sure what more we can ask.

Just personally if Beckham were to come play for use or too Australia in general it probably wouldn't have any impact on whether or not I go to a game. That said I already go to every game I can when I'm not working but for instance I'm making sure I do everything to have NYE off so I can see del piero. I probably wouldn't for Beckham. In such a case I think it would be similar for a lot of football people but the big difference is the fence sitters and the common public. Now the issue isn't how many people we might get at the games while he is here the issue would be keeping them after he leaves. If it has no discerniblecolour impact I would say maybe not.

The major impact you would get is from publicity. It could bring in sponsorship and international exposure. It could be the difference between getting a certain player in the future or not. If you combine this and an impact on attendance without being detrimental to on the field performance then I would say hell yes.

Adelaide is a great place to raise a family, it's one of the big things often said by interstates who move here for work.many wish they'd moved here sooner and dropped their stress levels don significantly.

I have said elsewhere but Beckham is the only player I will change my mind about for the guest player and marquee player, we could definitely sell out Hindmarsh every game with him here and as long as he was willing to play for between $1million - $2million a season we could recoup his costs. The closer we got to the $1million out lay the more likely we would be to actually make money off of him.

Seriously if the financial matter works out close to recouping the money then the club should have a serious look at it. If it is going to cost a lot then leave it alone. I would expect there to be some impact even after he leaves and perhaps even into next season if the team is playing very well.

Capacity at each home game would = over $1,000,000 from ticket sales plus any 3rd party deals, so it is logistics and not money that will kill our involvement.

Our team is good enough as it is, we don't need an ego to come in for 10 weeks and stuff up harmony ( I think it's about as likely as me running 1600 metres in under 4 minutes btw ). Sydney or Melbourne I could see, the good thing, however, is the media might actually forget about the Kurt Tippet saturation + it'd be great to see ARF get back in their box

Im not expecting it to happen no 3rd party no help from the government it sucks but we have to accept it.
