Good luck to Blackwood. Watched Oldham yesterday and Kewell has them well drilled albeit Carlisle were poor.

+xBlackwood signed for Oldham. Out of left field. Blackwood was one of the most frustrating AU players in recent history. Could see he has the talent but looked disinterested/lazy, then he’d turn it on for 5/10 minutes and look fantastic. Hopefully the Euro move is what’s needed to get that consistency so good luck to him.

Hopefully the Euro move is what’s needed to get that consistency so good luck to him. I always really wanted him to do well but so often he would just frustrate me as you say. I think he is probably a nice kid and maybe TOO nice on the pitch. Would lose far too many physical battles for a guy his size and too often looked timid. He has a fine collection of skills and I do think there's a pretty good striker just beneath the surface. Really hope this move works out for him and he works his arse off.

Another brace for Gibbs in the mighty Icelandic second tier. 16 in 13.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Yeah stuff Dykes- but don’t shoot the messenger johnzasaz who gives us all heaps of updates about all Aus players. Czech Republic aren’t a great side - Socceroos beat them 4-0 in 2018 so don’t mean much if dykes scored!

I've said it before, but anyone who shags the boss's Mrs is a shit bloke. Dykes made his choice, good luck to him but we've got better options.

Don’t understand why he’d wanna play for Scotland anyway, only benefit I can see is not having to travel around Asia for international games. They haven’t qualified for a World Cup or even a Euros since 1998 (France WC) - 22 years since a major tournament

I think it actually hampers some of the young Aussie trying to make it in Europe.

And it’s kind of a catch-22 - less travel may improve his club career, but then he may never play in a major international tournament...

Gwargis got 2 assists in a 3-2 loss for Brighton U23 in EFL Trophy. Burgess scored for Acc. Stanley and Cooper Skerry went off injured after 17 mins in a 7-0 loss for Leeds U23 in EFL Trophy. Charlie Miller was an unused sub for Plymouth Argyle. Jack Iredale kept a clean sheet for Cambridge.

FC Famalicao have brought in a 21 year old centre mid from Wolves who I am guessing will be a starter over Ryan Teague. Jordao seems to have broken through really young in Portugal then gone to Italy then England never getting a lot of first team football.
Sucks that they haven’t had a reported on friendly. They were meant to play Real Sociedad but Sociedad did not go to Portugal because one of their players got COVID.
Looking at transfermarkt Famalicao has huge turnover partially due to using a lot of loans and also because of how well they did last season only missing out on Europa league due to a 96th minute equaliser. In terms of centre mids, they seem to have lost two of their first choice three but are replacing them with this wolves players and a guy from Argentina who has not signed yet.
Their final game of the season seems absolutely crazy though. They were 2-1 down, equalised in the 87th minute, took the lead in the 91st minute and conceded an equaliser in the 96th minute to finish the game 3:3. There was also 4 red cards in extra time all for unsporting behaviour. There was three in the 96th minute so maybe some handbags after the final equaliser.

Maybe he will get loaned to get some senior football experience, that won't surprise me at all.

He's outstanding. Watch some highlights of Brighton's u23 team. He's either scoring them himself or setting them up. I think he's said he's open to playing for Australia & I think Arnie has spoken to him. They'd want to lock him in sooner rather than later, because he'd be awesome in the Olyroo's team for the Olympics

Gwargis was called up to the Olyroos squad for the recent AFC tournament but had to turn us down as he had already accepted a call-up from Sweden U23s for the same window. Since then there’s been corona, so no games.
He’s still open to Aus though. Hopefully doesn’t become another Dykes situation.
