+xRip in my father in law . Died today from a heart attack. The best father in law a man could ask for and the best grand dad my kids could ask for. I've now lost two men I looked up to and my kids have no more male grandparents . Sorry to hear that.

This is a little early but my old coach from Perth who is coaching Morley windmills sc Mauro Marchione, apparently he has been diagnosed with cancer so he has 6 to 8 months to live. I would like to thank him for introducing me to the mafia ( the team) during my time over there I worked my ass off to get in that team. And when he took me aside and told me "congrats you made the team" bloke changed football in Perth regarded as one of the best coaches in WA. He played proffesional in Italy at Lazio and playing around serie B serie C but the mentality he had was something to win doesn't matter the performance as long as you win. He may have sometimes been a mentos exploding out of a coke and had that distinct scream we got a lot of noise complaints lol. But thanks Mauro for teaching me I regard you as the best coach I've had.

Only just saw this thread as I heard he died while watching the gf last week. I'd wondered why I hadn't heard anything before and just searched the site then. Really sad loss for his family and football. Loved you at Carlton Shovel and respected you at Knights before that. Too young to pass. My condolences to his family, seemed like a great bloke.

Kobe Bryant. People die every day but this one struck me a bit more. I can only really think of all the positive goodwill this guy promoted about everything good in life. Made many people happy and feel good about themselves. A terrible loss.

Harsh for Gigi and his surviving daughters+ Vanessa no doubt, yet I'm feeling for all the kids out there who idolised Kobe. Whether they played basketball and aspired to be like him one day, or were just fans and saw him as immortal, this is their first experience of a grim reality about life, and I'm sure for a lot of them they've lost an element of their relatively carefree, childhood innocence with this news. Because they'll be thinking that if Kobe can just be gone like that, it can happen to anybody...
There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed

So so young. Loved watching him and the others because of their pure joy in busting myths . That and his pure joy when building robots
