Fact of life is that the club can't expect a free ride forever. Two key things your missing there though. 1) the rent has gone up. So your argument on food, drink and sponsorship is null and void because everything is going up. 2) AUFC wanted the rights to the stadium, they wanted to take on those costs themselves so that they could be the ones attempting to break even on this. Instead the government did this deal behind the clubs back and denied them the chance to tender on point one how is it null and void? The rent going up doesn't automatically mean the stadium becomes break even ffs. The AEC will be looking at the combination of revenue streams to make it profitable. Any alternative income stream other than rent eases the pressure on what they need to charge, simple economics. maybe they did want the rights to the stadium, doesn't mean they get them. Their are other people that use Hindmarsh than AUFC, maybe the government thought it better that AUFC didn't have complete control over it.

Sporting Gijon are reportedly interested in Lobato, so if he was one of the players AUFC were trying to sign he could be the one in doubt.

"The more income they can get from sponsorship like naming rights and food and drinks the less rent they will have to charge AUFC" this is what is null and void, because it is quite evident this will not be the case. the rent has gone up as well as the AEC maintaining the food and drink rights and also getting extra cash from sponsorships. This is obviously the AEC turning it into the biggest revenue raiser they can. They wouldnt have taken it on if they thought they were going to lose cash. As far your second point, that is rubbish. The other two sports just got a $535m handout for a stadium that the govt does not control. while AUFC gets jacked with higher rent prices and back hand deals. Adelaide United is the outstanding tennant of hindmarsh, the only other use I know of is smaller games by the FFSA which would be more than possible under and AUFC managemnt and AUFC would prob charge FFSA less. The fact that the deal was done behind the clubs back is what is shonky.

You will now get events at hindmarsh bands ect ect wrecking the grass ect ect not sure i like the entertainment center being in control but nothing we can do about it. It sucks when i go to the game knowing i will be giving money to the entertainment center knowing united will be getting jacked by them with every purchase i make.

](*,) No shit the AEC is trying to raise as much money as possible, Hindmarsh isn't going to get investment unless it becomes profitable. The rent going up and the Sponsorship/pourage/food deals don't cancel each other out. If the AEC hadn't done the sponsorship deal there's every chance the rent would have gone up even more and likely increase, they aren't mutually exclusive. Hindmarsh stadium is used by Rugby League in SA and also Rugby Union. AO is hardly relevant to Hindmarsh, it's bringing together the two biggest drawing sports into the one venue and limiting the need to spend $$ on two venues into the future. They have earnt it over a long period of time and it also provides a venue that will make international Football, Rugby Union and League possible in Adelaide it will also provide a suitable venue for an A-League GF when AUFC earn the right to host it. Shit i don't want AUFC to have to pay more but it's a commercial reality, it's up to AUFC to negotiate a rent that affordable or find a different venue.

I think the main problem people are complaining about it that the AEC is going to make alot of money off hind marsh stadium and it will mainly be because of united and they will get no profit for it. Lets be honest if it was not for united AEC would probably not of brought the it would have noone in it 90 percent of the year.
