Edited by liverpoolfan2010: 7/7/2013 12:00:00 AM He's still very young and I think he still needs a few more seasons to be effective playing in his preferred position in the middle of the park. I think the club views him as a long term prospect but made sure he was signed up to prevent him from being poached. Injury free, we should see the occasional run off the bench but I can't see him breaking into the starting 11 for at least another 12-24 months. Which i think is strange because he played about 6 games 2 seasons ago now and then no games at all this season to get him ready apparently for this season. I dunno i think he could be one of the guys in trouble if we do not see him much this season. At what age does he start to become and over aged player in the reserve team ? if he is not talking up a spot as an over aged player in the reserve team then you would think he still would be safe for awhile. Could end up being another montorosso hope i spelt that right lol Edited by liverpoolfan2010: 7/7/2013 01:02:30 AM

Edited by liverpoolfan2010: 7/7/2013 12:00:00 AM Needs to do something to prove he is worth a spot although he is still young.

Seems to have disappeared after that.

He had few injury set backs last season and is currently on loan at Para Hills to get some game time. Give him a few years and I think he'll be okay, no rush. Montorosso was a one trick pony in the NYL and that trick was proven to be ineffective in the A-League.

Melling is the next Barbiero. His technique is poor and he makes up for that with "work rate". Definitely won't cut it with Gombau unless he changes dramatically.

Burnsy would be a good player to return to us i think it could be the marquee but i think we missed out on him it went to quite from a few weeks ago
maby the other Spanish player who played in the reserve Barcelona team
been looking at willams too
I would not mind signing pain if we could get him.

even if it is a spanish/barca player it will not be anyone signficant. it will be a levchenko type player whos been around for a while and coming to end of his career'ish. there a million clubs in and around europe that a player could go to before "adelaide united".

Sounds like fun, hopefully we got both Spaniards and Nathan Burns, but I am greedy. However sounds like it might be just one Spaniard.

Now if we made a huge announcement saying we have signed someone and hyped it up only to be someone like colosimo then you would have a point. What announcement have they done that they have hyped up tot be something huge like you say to treat us like stupid supporters ?

trosa is right, if it was a big name something would have leaked. The club haven't been hyping it up all too much. People keep asking them who have we signed so I think their response is proportionate to the demands. It'll probably be a couple of second division spanish players that know the style of football Gombau wants to play (much like he did at Kitchee but hopefully higher quality to reflect the difference in leagues). I'm 100% ok with this.

I think you are underestimating the appeal of the a-league nowadays.
