IMO Red Army and South End should come as one again, if they're really behind the team and not in it for themselves they'll realise it's better for the club's support and building a great atmosphere again at Hindmarsh.

I don't want to come across as upfront here, but are you in any way affiliated with either of the supporter groups?

Do either of them even exist anymore? Barely looked like it last season.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Problem is they would rather be there own identity and run themselves then join for the better of the team which is unfortunate well that is how majority of people see it dont bite my head off just cause i said it lol . Both do a great job separate dont get me wrong but together is better.

It has always been smaller since they split into 2 groups even 3 at one point i think ? last season was not the best crowd wise but got a feeling this season we will see it get back over 12 thousand each game with all the good hype and press we have been getting.

South and north probably won't merge because they both have different methods of active support. South end is European style while the red army are English.

Q3: If there is a proposal...can someone link it to here please?

Its disappointing really. I understand wanting 2 support groups but without the numbers its not as good and the support is not as good as it once was.

ive was involved for the majority of the time from 06-last year. There was always issues with the difference of support and that was the continental groups have always sought independence because of it (MSE/irregulars/red terrace/south end) A strong point being flags and tifo throughout the game, as well as coordination from the front ie capos vs red army drummers at rear. and most importantly styles of songs and chants. While these things may seem trivial to someone whom hasnt been involved in active support. they are fundamental things for cohesion between groups. Which was always absent. from the point of view of peace between groups and matchday enjoyment from both sides of the fence the north south situation has been great. Also sitting in the west its great to have sound all around the stadium.

But if they can create chants to sing from one stand from the other there cant be that much hostility can there ? would love them all to sit down come to an agreement and rejoin all together to make it a better atmosphere and louder for the players. But that is just my opinion i think people in the active supporter like how it is now and general public like how it once was before.

Any news on Michael Zullo and his possibly injured knee from the game yesterday?
Losing Zullo with Cassio already out would be a big blow.
It seems we played almost our first XI against Heart. Obviously with Djite and Jeronimo missing McGrath got his chance as a striker but apart from it looks like Gombau sees the best team as being.
-----------Galekovic Bowles - McKain - Boogaard - Zullo -- Lustica - Isiais - Carrusca Ferreira - Djite/Jeronimo - Cirio
I guess he might play both Djite and Jeronimo when both are fit but Djite seems to be out for a while anyway.

Just give up on the idea of them merging. Both groups are happy with the situation. It wasn't them splitting that resulted in a reduction in active support but the ending of the general admission access into the areas by the FFA in conjunction with Hatamato.

One thing that would help with this point is encouraging active support ticket holders to stand in the seated area and allow those who are curious about joining in with general admission tickets to stand behind the Red Army. That space is general admission and while they'll get your ears raped by very bad drumming, they will be in amongst it.

This article on goal.com I found interesting. http://www.goal.com/en-au/news/4021/a-league/2013/10/05/4309858/libero-malik-the-vanguard-of-gombaus-velvet-revolutionParticularly Gombau's comments about having a range of tactical movements prepared for when teams work one out. This is something we've been lacking for a while.

Interesting article but I am not sure Malik is even in Gombau's first XI. Carrusca was rested and he will come back into the midfield trio, probably for Malik. Isaias will probably drop back into the holding midfield role.

The biggest loss in a way would be Zullo seeing we had to play a RB at LB. Does anyone know whether Bowles or Elrich played LB? Also does anyone know what is happening with Golec? Seems to have totally disappeared and not be anywhere near the starting XI. The slight concern I have with the team is that Malik and Mabil may not get enough game time. Sometimes its more about what is good for the club though. Are we big enough for 2 or more groups yet ? You are right about the general public restrictions that ruined it a hell of alot. Love going to hindmarsh nothing like it.
