Annnnnnnnnnndddddddddddddd he's tested positive for COVID 19 lol.

What happens if him and Pence both go down hard?

Chain of command?

Paused elections?

-PB

It usually takes three weeks for someone to die of covid, being 74 years old imagine if he karked it just a week before the election lol

No sign of Pence getting it, but oh boy if they both died or became incapacitated it's popcorn time, because next in line is Nancy Pelosi!

Imagine if Trump and Pence won somehow but both died after election day, that would really shake things up.

What about the Dems threats to pack the Supreme Court? Note that is isn’t just empty threats, they threatened to pack it prior to RBG kicking the bucket, to restore a liberal majority to the court.

It feels like all the hoopla about DT refusing to leave office and having to send in B2 bombers and a joint NATO strike force to get it done is a red herring to distract from fake impeachment scandals, large scale voter fraud, defunding police, condoning Antifa, Supreme Court packing and other attacks the Democrats have instigated on Democracy. Regardless of what you think about DT it seems me to  Democrats are 1000 worse and the continuous finger pointing at Trump is a convenient way to distract from their crimes.

Romney nailed it when he said:

Speaking to reporters, Romney said that he prefers Supreme Court justices who are "strict constructionists." The senator said this means justices who "look at the law itself and the Constitution, as opposed to sort of looking into the sky and pulling out ideas that they think may be more appropriate than the law or the Constitution."

"I recognize that we may have a court which has more of a conservative bent than it's had over the last few decades," he said. "But my liberal friends have over many decades gotten very used to the idea of having a liberal court. And that's not written in the stars."

None of that explains the appalling levels of illiteracy and graduation among blacks. Even when you balance for income level, family history etc, the reality is blacks , as a collective group, are well behind other races in terms of academic and job performance. The reasons for this are complex, but laying the blame entirely on systemic racism is a cop out designed to assuage blacks from taking responsibility for their own economic development. It’s racially insensitive to tell an economically depressed class of people that they are accountable and responsible, but in order to solve a problem you must first diagnose it correctly. There are lots of groups throughout history who have faced real systemic racism and managed to prosper through hard work and determination. For whatever reasons, probably a mix of culture and government welfare, blacks do not share this work ethic, so they turn to crime and lean on government to get by.

At the end of the day it’s all about choices. You can either choose the path of education, get educated and forge a career. Or you can reject education and continue the cycle of economic struggle, while whinging about systemic racism and waiting for reparations day. Every black kid has the same opportunity to go to school, become literate and earn a high school diploma as any other kid, that they don’t is less to do with systemic racism and more to do with culture and the welfare polices that disincentive education and personal responsbility.

Why don;t those things affect Asian minorities, who have the highest incomes of all? Or even Hispanics.  But blacks?

The reasons are in fact "not" complex. What explains those things is that 75% of black kids grow up in single parent families.  And the teenage pregnancy rates are double that of whites.  Fix that and I guarantee all the negative outcome-not causes- but outcomes that result in poverty, will be fixed.

Good luck getting the Democrats and the Looney Left to admit that and than actually do something about it though.

When Obama identified that problem, and also identified that is own people would not admit it was problem, he was castigated by his side of politics They'd rather have kids idolize black rappers calling black women ho's, bragging about how many they can screw in anight, how many robberies they committed, how many people they shoot, and how the white man made them do it.  And then you expect those boys  to respect women, take responsibility for their children, get an education and get a job?

The majority of black American culture is FUBAR.

This is the thing that gets me the most about the US system. The Supreme Court shouldn’t have that much input into social policy in the first place. Congress should be dictating agenda and legislating more clearly - not outsourcing the problem.

@ Burtztur:

The Supreme Court of Victoria's judiciary consists of the Chief Justice, judges of , judges, reserve judges and associate judges.

The Chief Justice is Anne Ferguson.  The President of the Court of Appeal is Chris Maxwell.  Both voted to uphold Pell's conviction, a disastrous decision that was reversed totally and unambiguously by the High Court 7-0 because the conviction was wrong at THE most basic level of our criminal justice system.

Maxwell is on the record as saying he believes its his duty and that of other judges to make decisions that DO set social policy.  His legal background is in the area of "social justice"

On the issue of poverty in the US:

Of those living in poverty, there are 24 million whites, 10 million hispanics, 8 million blacks and 2 million asians.  That's 44 million in total, and 55% of them are white.

Blacks are just 22% of people living in poverty in the US, yet apparently that's more important to address in dealing with poverty in the US.  The other 78% don't matter.

Who cares?  We're talking about poverty.

Do you want to fix poverty for as many people as you can, or do you want to virtue signal and "take the knee", and leave 78% percent of the poverty population behind?

U.S. President Donald Trump’s gender, age and weight are all factors that make him more vulnerable to developing severe COVID-19, and give him a notional risk of around 4% of dying from it, health experts said on Friday.

The probability is hard to assess precisely, however, since factors such as overall fitness and activity levels, pre-existing conditions and recent medical research can all make a significant difference.

A working paper by the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research published in July put an infected but otherwise healthy 70- to 79-year-old’s risk of dying from COVID-19 at 4.6%, regardless of gender.

David Spiegelhalter, a professor of risk and an expert in statistics at Britain’s Cambridge University, cited a COVID-19 survival calculator that put the mortality rate for an otherwise healthy 74-year-old white man with COVID-19 during the peak of the pandemic in Britain earlier this year at 3% to 4%.

That risk would now “presumably be somewhat less”, he said, as doctors around the world have gained experience in treating the disease.
