It wasn't them splitting that resulted in a reduction in active support but the ending of the general admission access into the areas by the FFA in conjunction with Hatamato. Sometimes its more about what is good for the club though. Are we big enough for 2 or more groups yet ? You are right about the general public restrictions that ruined it a hell of alot. Love going to hindmarsh nothing like it. At the back end of last season they got rid of those restrictions, still Weslo guys around there but no barriers. only in the north end.

This season you will be able to get into those areas with match day tickets etc as long as the bays are not full, active support tickets have priority.

I was there from about 20:30 as I flew back from Sydney after work. Was a lot of fun, there was some filming going on so hopefully that will go up. We were pretty rowdy during presentations with chants and stuff so I hope they don't decide they can;t use it. There should be photos and stuff up on FB etc :)

Any one involved in Either of the active support bays, any news of tifos VS Victory? I had an awesome idea the other day that the North End upper and lower decks get a white piece of material each, you know the ones, and then some red ones and the red ones spell out, UNITED FOR on the top deck and 10 on the lower, we would probably get enough for it at the Victory game.

Its been discussed from time to time by active groups. but ultimately you need 50 people committed to spending $120 for a bus ride to melbourne with strict timelines and no relaxation of accomodation. Ultimately it is cheaper to fly (if u get sales) and it is more comfortable, or if catching the bus, even firefly is cheaper than a private coach and you get the convenience of picking different times and the option of staying the night. Those buses were great and I have very fond memories from the early years, but I cannot see the current ownership funding those sorts of things (especially considering those people will go anyway without a free bus ride) not everyone is as generous as bianco was and understandably. I would argue that cost (or lack there of) is the only reason those buses were so popular. People prefer to fly and do their own thing during the stay and most make a weekend of it.

Can't believe the season starts in 4 days for the reds.
Let the positive and negative comments begin for the next seven months.

is anyone worried about the fitness of players this year ? im worried another rini coolen season is going to happen to unfit at the start and could not catch up
no boxing, cycling, swimming, gym, prehab, this year they scrapped all of that
every session was ball skills and ball drills worried we might be looking at another rini coolen year another import coach underestimating the fitness of the league ?

Actually it's the opposite, from pre-season games I noticed everyone was way better conditioned then last year at the same time, admittedly there was some rotation due to the nature of practice matches, however most players on for the full 90 rarely looked like they were "out in their feet", rather heads were always up and Josep stated in his speech at the dinner we should expect each and every player to put 100% effort into the full 90+ minutes of the game. Having competition for every position also helps push themselves harder as there are no starting guarantees. Playing group also "fear" the wrath of Gombau which is always a good motivator. Time will tell however I'm not worried, also this has been an exceptionally long pre-season build up, the negative is that expect most teams to be far better conditioned from the beginning compared to last year. Except maybe SFC lol.

Dont forget the pre season with rini we played well and beat Brisbane and got all the hype for the season then lost against them 6-1 wasn't it ? in the regular season What if i was to say and im not going to reveal any names but been told by players they are already worried about pre season and level of fitness levels.

Hugene no.4 on Foxsports top 20 A-League players. Well deserved. Goalkeepers are so rarely recognised and he's top drawer.

Just read how the FFA are once again planing on shutting down www.adelaidereds.com.au because they don't like clubs having individual identities. They need to cop a hammering about the idea.

Don't want to misquote him but basically he was asked by a caller "did you ever consider leaving in the last couple of years coz you had ups and downs but now the fans are really behind you and see you as our best defender". He replied (im paraphrasing) " No i never really thought about it (pause) I think as soon as I heard the new coach was coming I was happy to stay (pause) i think if the old coach didn't leave I would have found it hard to stay" Kossie  This coupled with some telling quotes from McKain recently about how it's great to have structure and the last coaches never really had a plan and Dario wearing Van Dykes shirt to training etc it's not hard to see why we crumbled last season God I hope this year is all about the football. The club is trying and it seems the coach and the players are so long may it continue

The awkward replies are priceless
