+xSomething this thread missed, but very good news for Australian football: Akiel Raffie (17/18) made his first team debut for Fleetwood Town in the EFL Trophy yesterday. He is eligible for both Australia and South Africa, so it would be great if he got called up to a Young Socceroos squad soon. He was left out of our 2019 U17 World Cup squad due to injury. DIdnt see that coming. Great spotting.

No Arzani in what appears to be a practice game against Zwolle.

The similarities in some of the circumstances of Tim Cahill and Akiel Raffie. Both box-to-box midfielders, primarily Both born in Australia but eligible to play for other nations Both have a cousin (or cousins) who played for the All Blacks That third one lol

A few random updates if case you haven't seen them.
Emmanuel Pavlis (17) has moved from Panionios to Apollon Larissas (2nd tier) in Greece. Yaren Sozer (young goalkeeper) decided to move back to Turkey (Erokspor) after a brief stay in Malaysia. Dylan Collard has signed with Maritimo in Portugal. Will start with the U23's before hopefully progressing to the seniors. He did make a senior debut during his short lived stay in Poland. Nineteen year old Luka Prso (was at the youth ID camp in Netherlands during March) has moved to NK Osijek reserves in Croatia. Isaac Danzo has joined on loan to UD Alzira (4th tier) in Spain to get more senior football. Lachlan McLean, who came through the US college system, is now at Greenville Triumph (US 3rd tier), and has been in several TOTW. Now in the playoffs!! Good to see Akiel Raffie get 20 minutes at Fleetwood Town. Has been in their youth set up for years, but will hopefully be a regular in the U18's this season. (Soccerway has him listed as English, hence not on our regular AA updates, I have asked them to update). His younger brother, Reyaan, is at Manchester City.
Exciting times.

Bility has been included in Midtjylland’s champions league squad along with Mabil. The squad is quite big but of note he is the only player under 20 included who doesn’t qualify as a list B player (ie local youth player) https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/clubs/75795--midtjylland/squad/

Hrustic started for Frankfurt in a friendly against Wurzburger
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

It would be very handy if another centre back broke through in these times.

Ange’s YFM 4-0 up and into injury time. They have scored second highest amount of goals but conceded a truckload too. Sitting in seventh place.

Actually 6th place, but have played 3 more games than the teams around them on the ladder due to the ACL scheduling bollocks. Cklamovski lost again with Shimizu 2-3 Langerak with a clean sheet for Nagoya in a 1-0 win over 3rd placed team. Sitting 5th above Ange.

90 and assist for Boyle 90 for Burgess and Edwards; a few minutes for Williams 90 for Blackwood, Jack Iredale, Beadling,

Kewell at bottom Apparently best CB was shafted by club due to not taking a wage cut. Owner also under criticism. They looked alright in the Cup against Carlisle. Something has got to give surely. Fans feel Kewell is doing what he can with a sinking ship.

Smith made his first start with Seattle and played 58 minutes. They were trailing 1-0 when he came off then ended up losing 3-1.

Anyone heard any Vuka updates? He was diagnosed with corona 3 weeks ago and obviously hasn’t played since. I wonder if he’ll be back after the international break.

Anyone heard any news on Panos Armenakas? Last report the Belgain Club KSV Roeselare he has just signed up for folded. Is he now a free agent? Can't help get the feeling that he'll once again disappear into the European football wilderness once again :(

Nice header from Nicholas Pennington in Serie C at 2:40. He has started the season with two goals in four games. His team is doing pretty shit with his two goals being the only ones that they have scored. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bmPJK7XetA

This Aussies Abroad is a sacred thread, amongst all the other guff, but because it is so large it takes a while to load on my phone, unlike all the other threads. I don’t know if others experience this?
Is it time for “The Aussies Abroad Thread version 2.0”?

IPhone 8 so could go an upgrade. It’s only this page though. Anyway, just a thought. I am not that fussed either way.

Ange and YFM go up against 4th placed Gamba Osaka at 9pm on Optus. They play Cerezo Osaka 3 days later in a ridiculously hectic schedule.

Try Flat (Descending unless you want to read about Corey Gameiro) Cklamovski (FC Tokyo away) also on tonight. Deng not in squad for Urawa (suspended?). Langerak looks to be starting.

Fwiw my experience is exactly the same. Takes a few seconds for this thread to load when I open it on my phone. Doesn’t happen with any other threads. Not hugely detrimental to my experience, but is noteworthy.

The old National Team official somehow glitched and wouldn't load or allow posts but that was for everyone. And how dare you consider wiping Corey Gameiro came on in the 63rd min for FC Eindhoven in their 2-0 loss to De Graafschap as the opening line :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
