I am starting to form a hunch about his success at supercoach.

Not wrapt on origin bonuses.  Sometimes more about how origin team is going and injuries than player ability.  NSW blooded twice as many players as Qld during Qld's domination.  This would mean twice as many bonuses for NSW.

The only thing we've seen from Elliot is his pecker. 

The cheapest players are nearly always home grown, everyone is replaceable, but often a replacement is not as good or costs more.

I think the issue is Elliott wants to play semi final footy and make rep teams. That was always the danger in fixing the cap mess the way we did, players can get tired of losing an restless.

So first off Tom and our recruitment has to convince players we are heading north. 

I hope we keep Elliott.

I've said before and I still believe it that if Elliot was coached by Bellamy he would be right in Origin mix and probably have already played it.

It's the danger of dismissing Elliot so easily. Maybe Tom can get the best out of him to turn him into an Origin type player, maybe not. But to dismiss him so easily is setting ourselves up to be bitten in the arse as one of those players we'll regret letting go.

Of course the price has to be right, but we shouldn't just throw him out with the bathwater thinking there's a better and cheaper replacement.

Has always given 100% he is just improving in most aspects of his as he matures... His best tears as a forward are still ahead of him...

Agree, structure the deal with incentives so that he has to continue to perform. We'll get nowhere paying him better than average money just because he had an improved season when his livelihood was on the line.

Elliot has gone okay but he's never struck me as anything other than a fringe first grader. If someone wants to get into a bidding war for him then they're welcome to him.

What ever happened to Polla-Mounter making a come back? We could use some of his experience. 

In fact if the Roosters get him, I'd give them -300k from their salary cap.

But the deal is, they HAVE to play him.

I like Katy Perry. 

Elliott's had a really good season but up until now he has never played consistently well for us. Always made too many handling errors. He is probably worth keeping given the nature of the rule changes but not for too much. If the dragons are offering him more than good luck to him.

I don't believe Tolman is asking for an upgrade. He is already being paid way more than he is worth as he signed when Hasler was around and Hasler rated him one of the best props in the comp.

So given I expect this to be his last season and considering Elliott may leave it doesn't give us much depth in the backrow. Stimson comes back but he didn't look impressive earlier this season. We'd definitely need to recruit one or two props if we plan on continuing to play Thompson at lock.

To be honest, I don't rate Adam Elliot much.
But do you know who I rate? Adam Perry.

Dragons fans were whinging about him. But he has the talent, mostly needs to be a bit smarter.

I rated Lafai better than Jmoz and was spewing when Des favoured Morris ahead of him. 

His form did drop badly when he had his kid and we eventually offloaded him but after 1 year his form returned at the Dragons and he looked the better player again.

I'm not sure which Lafai we have now but surely he is a walk-in in this team.

Remis and DWZ definitely on the wings. Montoya dropped.
Dutchy looks good in attack at times, but makes the occasional bad miss in defence.
Lafai is a better all round player, but forces the odd dumb offload.

The problem with Dutchy and Lafai is the occasional bad play, it is a coin toss for me..
If should be a physical game against Parra on that score Lafai is perhaps better suited.

Lafai will be keen to get a chance and impress with a view to earning a contract for next year, but that might spill over to forcing the play. The coach should let him know what is expected.
