Tactically Amor made one mistake on not bringing Mells on earlier his attacking style and playing the ball forward could have just made the difference.

They're quite reserved over there as its not a place for outgoing risk takers hence why all the talented people move to Sydney, Melbourne and elsewhere. Much older population too.

Still mad about the FFA Cup ay.

He's just the Sydney version of Roary's Mane. Can be safely ignored

Will be good to see Hall get some experience over the next two to three months. Just hope he can hold off the Vuck again in November.

I've never seen Dylan Smith play, yet he's listed on AU's squad!
I say give him a go, he'd have to be as good as Babalj. He actually may care and he actually may score .

Just our luck that the only fingertip save Redmayne has made, for a very long time, was to prevent Goodwin from winning it for us.

not really a center forward, more a pacy winger/forward type.

We don't appear to have a lot of depth, do we? If we drop a defender, who do we bring in? Same problem in midfield.
There were glimpses in the second half of what the team used to be like, but we still lack in our goal scoring. It's a shame we didn't get McLaren when he left Perth - he's the sort of player I'd like to see up front for us.
I'd love to know more about the circumstances behind Gombau leaving - the players haven't been the same since he went.
Could be a long season, but then again I'm an Arsenal supporter so I'm used to disappointment.

In my eyes, Mells was better than Carrusca when he came on.
Could someone enlighten me to injury signings. Things like how long a player has to be ou before the club is eligible to sign, and how long the contract has to be?

Having said that, I have no faith in the owners and believe that they want to save money more than be competitive.
There is little doubt in my mind that Sydney and Victory have enough squad depth to cover this, but if they had the shit season we've had so far they'd get injury replacements immediately.

The supporters of AU have been pleading for a decent striker for one complete season and these past 5 games its gone up a notch for a CB., and we have yet to see a display of goal poaching from Babalj, and La Rocca is not really a CB, but we haven't even seen him yet to judge.
I keep on hoping we'll see Ochieong and some of the other youth, but nothing as of yet?

Babalj will come good we must remember he has not played for a long time. His rhythm will come, Mells needs more minutes my only concern is with him how long he will stay . Now official Greek Club Panathinaikos is tracking him along with Dutch clubs. Craig Goodwind must play on left wing a,dominant player.

But I will say we judge player on final ball this is a must at top level, you can have tricks, speed but final ball a must.

I've been a member of this club since inception and injury times have always been wrong, It's now 12 weeks since Babalj was listed as being unavailable for 6 weeks due to injury, as was LaRocca.
Are these two ever going to be available? Or are they just dud recruits that Adelaide seem to love buying? Also our esteemed owners seem to be unaware of the injury replacement scheme, ( ore are they fiscally hamstrung, like they tell us )?
However, that seems to be an affliction for all clubs that aren't MV, Syd , WSW and now MC, with the NZ $ always lower than the Aus $ the Nix could probably join the four beloved who constantly seem to be exempt of the " level field " that the FFA talks of.

Been pretty weird that youve had players out for so long and not even contemplated signing an A-League journeyman type to temporarily fill the squad spot.

And with the salary concessions I dont think there will ever be the level playing field. League will be a top 5 and bottom 5

The owners tell us that it is because of money. They also tell us that AU runs at a profit - meaning that players get their wages on time without question, and coaches & back-room staff have their contract honoured on time.

If we believe them it means AU has a bare wage and extras like guest players are a luxury we can't afford. As a supporter I would prefer a competitive team though, and when Nick Bianco owned the team we had one, but he ended up having to unload AU along with other bits of his empire.
So players that are supposed to fix our woes are not playing for weeks on end, I get pissed off and wonder why other clubs can do it & we don't. I'm hoping that a decent TV deal will fix it.
But I think you're right, it is top 5 and bottom 5 simply based on City size. It is also why I'm against an NZ team, simply because of paying for a team and staff to fly internationally affects clubs like us more.

It must cost Glory a bucketload.

Seems clear to me that Gombau was brought in to bring a style and culture to the club with a succession plan to follow. It beats me why everyone expected Amor was going to give us Gombau-ball. Amor is his own person with his own experiences from his career and Gombau simply put the building blocks in place for him to work with. It feels like things are on their way up with Amor and the team. Now is a great time to be a Reds fan!
