+xIve just done a bit of digging, it turns out that Gian Mendez' club AD Merida have a few Aussies on their books at the moment. They seem to all be either on the fringes of the first team or playing weekly in the U23's. Not sure if there is some sort of connection to Australia through ownerships or not. But this is a very well positioned club actually playing in the THIRD tier of Spanish football. Not the TERCERA division. So these lads are at a pretty good place at the moment. The link is a footballing agency it turns out, they must have some pretty good connections at that club. The agency is GM football which is owned by none other than Gabriel Mendez, the former NSL and former Socceroo. as Barca pointed out above...

Can you send a link to where you found this? Also - while it is the third tier, there are about 15 leagues in the Segunda B framework, so it’s not really equivalent to League One whatsoever.

Thats true, but no one is saying that the level is akin to that of League One. Spanish football goes a lot deeper than the first two divisions, and its system is very different to that of England, doesn't necessarily mean the quality is far worse. Issac Danzo for reference has gone on loan to a fourth tier side... Heres where I found the info https://www.facebook.com/GMGlobalSports/

Lachlan Brook's first start for Brentford B against Chelsea U23's. He was involved in the opener, with a smart pass in behind. The livestream is below, goal movement is at 14:17 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAFJgrNGV8A&t=872s

Ends 6-2 for Ange. This'll be huge in Japan.
Deng unused, hopefully Urawa realises the mistake they made.

+xAnyone think mooy will leave China in January and go back to England? Is there any indication of a move? I doubt it so soon. I see a move to the UK or Australia most likely being family related.

+xCleur played 18 mins in Serie B I know how bad he was for the olyroo’s but if he can become a regular with millar as well in league 1 we don’t look too bad

According to FotMob, Cam Burgess got man of the match for Accrington in a 1-0 win. Elder played a full game and got an assist in a 2-0 win against Edwards.

+x+xElder, edwards, burgess, millar, Wright all starting in league one Would League 1 be a similar standard to the A League or higher? I'd say the Australians in League One would fare quite well in the A League. I think the best A League teams would generally match most League 1 teams. Lower A League would have a tough time in League 2.

At its peak i'd have said the A league was bottom half championship standard mostly related to fitness rather than technical ability but i honestly believe it has dropped off to a point where its mid table league 1 level as an average

I'd much rather the talented young Aussie players getting more game time now, then some has been 40 yr old. I wouldn't mind one "Marquee" player per team, but would like the majority of players to be u23 Australians, like 75% of each team. One or two more experienced Australians & one OS player in the starting team. Use the League as a "Development" comp - that would definitely improve the next generation of NT players. We've already seen a few of the more talented NPL players getting signed up at the Roar for example.

On an unrelated topic it’s really disappointing to see all the Asian countries managed to see some friendly actions in this international break but not us.

Tommy Deng finally starting again in the J League. The Olyroos definitely need him playing big minutes right through to the Olympics - definitely be in a back 3 or 4 with Souttar, Dylan Ryan, (not sure of Left back)
