+xAssume it is is true. What happens next? Possibly why Fong and Pouree set up new Roar companies with themselves as directors back in September? Big question is why? Something behind the scenes happen during COVID?

Personally, while I can’t fault the Bakries for investing $3-$5m every year in the clubs activities they’re way too absentee to make a more positive impact

Fong is a business man. Would he really want to finance the Roar? Does he even have the money to do that? It’s more likely a way making money.Which means other people with money.

+xDidn't someone post here a while back about Bakrie bailing out in January? No. That post would cover everything from a meteor strike on the Roar training camp to Roar marching out to a new theme song of “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” ....

Should happen this month.

+xSorry to spoil your dreams, but I'm hearing Bakries will bankrupt Roar in January and be gone after that. This is why their not paying due bills and finding temporary offices and venues. They have no intention of paying their bills This is the post referred to above - form what opinions you will from that...

The biggest problem with the article though is the author - Dave Lewis has a track record of just stirring the pot with nonsense stories when it comes to Roar (and Adelaide for that matter) so he’s a low-trust journalist.
The Jets getting taken over “within days” is his first test - if this time next week the Jets have new owners then fine, if not the blokes Tripp in’ again 🤪

So did I. But that’s my point, the journo has a track record of misquoting or quoting out of context. Always best not to read too much into his articles and wait and see.

They have one on the Advisory Board. Busy no doubt.
This is Hollmans third go at this. He lost the first two but hey, “no win/no fee” what’s he got to lose??

Hey I'm back. Just curious to how long before it takes someone like FFA to step in and put a stop to the people running the Roar , cause there is something wrong there. Story after story about them being sued

Mulvey - his case is five years old and he’s been ordered to pay Roars legal costs up front, fragile case? And how did his last gig work out?
Holman - has already lost this case once with the support of the PFA, he’s now trying civil avenues for some reason.

"The applicant’s prospects of success are at least significant, and, if the objective evidence of a change in salary is confirmed, might be described as strong." and...... "Whilst the delay of four years is significant, it is not unusual" And for clarity, Mulvey was only ordered to pay the Roar's costs dealing with the application for continuance, not for their defence of the resultant action.

Legal battles, changing venues, numbers dropping of shirts etc, etc. Seems it’s never ending.

+xLegal battles, changing venues, numbers dropping of shirts etc, etc. Seems it’s never ending. My favourite one was when the numbers fell off so badly they had to write it on there with a black marker pen; how I laughed .... wait, that was the Northern Ireland international side. My bad and that was a few years ago as well.

Tonight's game showed some exceptional football by the Roar going forward. Up until when Champness went off we looked like we had what we were missing - speed, creativity and an absolute threat around the box. Players were lifting above the level they played at last year, with DWH putting a quality ball into the box and someone scoring off it just as one example. Unfortunately, once Champness went off (and perhaps some other changes too) our attack seemed to fall back to our old struggle. A game of two halves for sure. All in all, with a largely youthful team, we were fluid and dangerous - and quite exciting to watch. If we can keep that level up in the aleague (no guarantee) I would go so far as to say that Paulc might even find it worth watching (I am not being facetious - it really was nice quality football). The own goal was an absolute howler and quite funny in an 'oh my god, how could you do that' fashion. That aside, Gillesphey made some brilliant tackles throughout the game and has retained his emerging quality. Brindell-South seemed to have a very positive contribution for whoever wondered about him. He was fast and quite skillful and worked hard in both directions. Corey Brown had a bloody good game - both up and back. He looked lean and fit to me and we might be glad to have him at leftback this season. A few of our young players (including DWH) got hammered as the game wore on and some frustration came in from the NPL side. A couple of the NPL players did seem quite determined to get carded or sent off with some nasty challenges. Lucky there were no injuries really. The game was not all one way though, so it was a good game to be getting the newer players into a hard hit out. The deserved NPL goal was a little bit of sustained pressure in the box and a touch and shot worthy of a goal in the circumstances. Add Aldred back in and the centre should toughen up a bit more. We were nowhere near as vulnerable to the fast break as we were last pre-season that is for sure. Macca had opportunities to pass off and to receive decent passes - really satisfying to see good linking play that results in goals. I found our young team to be better than our pre-season team last season (which I rated promising) - both attacking and in defence. I think we are a better team this season than we were last season and Champness really brought flair, skill and goals to our game.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.
