His best chance of securing something better is right now... he can talk to how he turned leagues greatest club around without a game in 21 being played...

I think his deal was three years so it’s not a sacking it’s just not an extension...

I reckon he had something on the boil...

it’s also a reasonable position we are in now to attract an equal or better CEO... They will be the face of our next premiership in ‘22!!!!...

mutual agreement in my humble opinion...

Good thing or bad thing?  Who we end up with will answer that.  If he was sacked or pushed we should have someone lined up, so we should know pretty quickly.  What we need is a good administrator not a football type who will interfere in the running of the team.

What happened?
Are we batting first?

Not all is lost. Just need to score 420, get them out for 200 and enforce follow on.

If we bat a second time, we are fekked.

I dont.
But India gets an early wicket and Australias win percentage jumps to 72% with draw at 19%.

Why the jump you say?
Because the computer understands that a result in the match is now much more eminent and boosts Australias chances. It also understands that Australia is (by roster) the better team and if India can take early wickets this early on the pitch, then Australia should have no problems getting 20 wickets for a low India target score

Because the computer understands

Now I know what Thom Yorke meant by OK Computer, he was talking to Winviz.

Marki, do you think Winviz has become self-aware like Skynet? Will it now decide it don’t need cricketers for cricket?

The computer understands nothing. No more than the calculator on your phone “understands”. It’s not an AI, it just calculates data punched into it by a human. That first percentage you seen would’ve been the calculation it spat out based on data such as the averages of the players, win percentage at The Gabba, probably a whole host of other sh.t punched into it by some nerd. The second one you seen would’ve been after someone hit a button on who was batting first and the averages of that were included in the calculation.

The computer would “understand” less about what an early wicket would mean than your dog.

All I know is that Vodafone use to be the best mobile network and in the last year or so of rolling out 5G, they have become shithouse. I lose reception whenever I am near an airport or electricity cancer tower.

They should have called it 0.5G or -5G

And apparently did a rain-dance yesterday. He's also been making sure there wasn't a follow-on by wanting one, not that I know how you can make the opposition follow-on if you win the toss & send them in to bat first.

I was interested in seeing what winviz is but after googling it info was scarce. There was a fair bit on cricviz & some guy did a write up on that giving winviz a mention :

https://smartodds.blog/2019/08/06/cricviz/

From that I gather winviz is a phone app. Now I know.

It does look like it's heading for a draw now. The rain yesterday & the Indian tail wagging....that's the end of that.
It hasn't been a bad test, but not the result Aus were looking for. A few wickets lost due to concentration lapses etc.

Anyone understand why we rarely have a 3rd man?

I still don't understand a lot of our field placings and strategies.

Green is a great gully field and a good bat we just need his bowling to improve.

Plan A - bowl for a nick with the occasional short ball.
Plan B - work the batsman over with the short ball and bowl the occasional full ball.

Mostly Plan A or Plan B does the job especially if the field placings back up the plan.

3rd man is handy for Plan A.

Sometimes it looks like we don't have a plan with a random scattering of fielders.

If it doesn’t rain, you couldn’t ask for this Test to be set up any better for a final two days.

Aus will have to declare to win, and that declaration even at it’s best India would back themselves to chase given their performance in the last Test.

Of course a batting collapse by either side or a 5th day washout puts an end to all that but it is beautifully poised.

Aus leads by 50ish, so even at 150 a session gives them 350 by tea, and they can’t afford to go much past that seeing as they need the win for the trophy.

last Test India needed 400 and change in 4 sessions and got 330 odd of them.

It’s “poised”.

To win Australia need the pitch to deteriorate, India will be happy to draw the game.

However, Australia haven't 100% got it together in the field for a while, maybe they fire or India crack under pressure.
Today Australia had an opportunity to lead by 100 or more, they didn't fire.

The game is well balanced provided the Indians play for the win.

But we have been out played most of the game, so the balance is fair, we need to do something exceptional to earn a win.

You never know in cricket, battling sides can get the wobbles, or sometimes they can cruise to victory when you least expect it.

I'm over this Test match....
It's like playing Desball constantly and thinking you can win.

Flawed from the outset.

Poor Indians didnt know if the right thing to do was to get the Aussies out, or let them keep batting! Rahane nearly flogged the 3rd man fielder for taking the catch!

The aussies better have a super dooper day tomorrow and hope the heavens dont open up, otherwise massive questions will be asked of the team tactics.

You can praise the Indians, and they've certainly done well, but they showed in Tests 2, 3 and 4 that they can hold their wickets and play for a draw so why give them the fekking chance and play 8nto their hands?
