WFMB:  Man of the match in the over 35's for my team.  Lol.  Old man Muz still has it. (Fluffed a 1 on 1 though.)

Also WFMB:  Been assigned 2 more ressies as a centre ref.  Must have done all right for the one I did last week.

WFMB:

LFC capping off the season with their highest ever points tally (could've broken the outright record if Allison and VVD didn't both fuck-up against the Gooners) and knowing that Lovren will never play for us again.

Looking forward to a brief break and then returning in September with less of these bullshit k/o times.

There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed

WFMB: I have never been able to wear sunglasses, whether that be because my script was too strong as a kid and in my older years, that it was far too expensive,  but i finally bought some and got them today.

It was a perfect day today so i wore them and it was seriously like... my eyes took their very first breath! (Amazing right!) It was as if i was able to see more clearly than ever. I've missed out on alot... or easily impressed.

WFMB:

Quit my job, took a week off and have now started building my house.

We're in!!!!!!

12 and a half month build and we're in.  Rent begone.

No blinds (they're on order), wardrobes still to be built, driveway getting done this week and about 6 months of landscaping every weekend ahead of me but we're in.

Best thing I've ever done was be the builder's labourer on this house.  Can now look around me and say I rigged the steel, I stood those walls, put those trusses on, fixed the cladding on the outside, painted the outside, built the deck, laid the floor, built a bar, whacked up the glass balustrade and a million other little things.

Slightly overbudget due to scope creep and over time by a few months but couldn't care less.  Woot!

Congrats!!!!

Bought my house about a year and a half ago and the sense of pride I get just from making a dirt patch a lawn (for example) is huge so can't imagine how good that must feel having had a hand in so much of the build.

I just joined the ranks of the landed gentry also, we settled during level 4 lockdown when the market for apartments really bottomed out due to nobody wanting to rent with no internationals etc. So many rental vacancies, so I figured it was the time to strike and buy from someone wanting to offload. It's a small apartment, but my days of putting up with dropkick housemates are over.

Not really a WFMB, but kinda, went and bought a cheap coffee machine for my parents for Christmas from a large retailer,  service was bad so we just went with what we thought we'd get.
Get to check out and we got the manager of the store serving us,  was really unattentive and was cracking it with me because the eftpos terminal wasn't working properly.  When it did i looked closely at the amount on the terminal as it said $19.99 (shouldve been $99) i questioned it but she was too busy chit chatting to another worker,  so i paid it,  checked our bank account to make sure,  yep $19.99, it appears to have gone through as a lay by and we were just charged the deposit.

She was rude,  And wouldnt listen, so oh well, however because it's a place that takes details,  I'm sure they'll call us in the next 60 days asking if we're going to pay the difference and pick up the order or realise they stuffed up. Ill see how they react to decide what I'll do.

Congrats Muz. Very impressed with the DIY aspect. You were probably able to keep an eye out on overall quality as well. Overbudget and scope creep are natural consequences with home builds, so it's not big deal.
