As long as I don’t have to be at tomorrow’s recovery session I’m in... it starts at 10, and I’ll be at the local Laundys venue from 9...

No prob, they can do recovery in the pub.

It was Flanagans fault we didnt score again with the poor 5th tackle options..... and the dropped balls.

But a great effort to hold them out

After that game, I really want the NRL to eliminate the 6 again rule. I'd rather the ref have to call a penalty that can get reviewed on video and keep him accountable. I feel the refs are getting off scot free making these decisions on the run.

Bwahahahaha... only a clueless punter would have taken that bait...
So u want a ref to review a a ref for penalty.... cos that’s working so well when try’s are scored...
The refs already get too much air time...

While there was some great scrambling defence there was also a fair bit of luck involved. On another night we could easily have lost by 18.

We can use 18th man if on report...

Only if the player is binned or sent off. Quite often on report and only a penalty

From what I could tell is that this team is scoring more points than any previous bulldogs team of the last 5 years or so.
I remember harping on about scoring more than 12 points a game and we will win. They never score more than 12.

We got the points in this team. Just need to get the defence righted.

I want the rules to go back to blowing a penalty for these ruck or offside infringements rather than 6 again.

If they are forced to blow a penalty, it will get reviewed or scrutinised and refs will be forced to be accountable to them.

As it is now, I dont think anyone has the time to review these 6 agains and refs just call them when they feel like it. I dont like the discretion unless there is accountability

Agreed.
I didn't see anything wrong with the obstruction No Try. We got the benefit on the application of the rule rather than anyone being obstructed.

We have had plenty of bad luck in the last 3 years, perhaps back to 2012.

First win after a sequence of losses is always like this.

Our squad is thin, I hope we can back up it.

Baz knew what the win meant, breaking our sequence of losses is big.

BTW, you keep thinking I'm wanting the refs to review the penalties on the fly..... I'm not.

I just to return to pre-6 again footy.
If the refs want to police the game by blowing 30 penalties a game...then let them do it and face the music.

But I bet you they wont.
They'll blow only the ones that are clearly worth blowing coz they will be accountable on the let's just say questionable ones.

Canberra ripped off big time. That last cows try, firstly the player that scored was offside, then bobbled the ball on putdown and to add insult to injury I think all the fvckwits in the bunker must of been out having a durry because they missed the fvcking lot of it. 2 consecutive games where the refereeing has been p!ss poor pathetic and heavily favouring  one side. V'landys needs to grow a set and hold these cvnts accountable or the fans will walk in droves.

There were a few times today that we made some good tackles, dominant tackles and the sharks player wasnt even trying to play the ball fast and ref calls 6 again....

And towards the end of game, our players are doing suplex moves in the ruck to intentionally slow it down and ref does nothing.

How can you play the game when there is no consistency in these calls?

Dont even get me started on the ref not calling held and allowing Sharks players who have full momentum stopped, still get a pass away.

The worst one was Aaron Woods. He was completely stopped, our players are about to release him so he can play the ball, yet he offloads and ref allows it.

Did his Adam's apple get stuck and he forgot to call held or dud he honestly think it wasnt held yet?

So not reviewing on the fly... cool... that’s prob for the best...

But reviewing post game... WTF do think is happening now???... the reviews happen... refs rarely held accountable... Shammersly making excuses or justifications after a team has lost still don’t change a result..:

When it comes to accountability the 6 again is not the issue, the people conducting the review and acting on the findings are... so reverting to blowing penalties won’t matter...

Id rather they enforce the rules and blow the pea out of the whistle and use the bin for 12 months... it’s the only way coaches will change their methods...

Sure we might end up with an ordinary spectacle for 12 months... but most games this year have been an ordinary spectacle at best anyway.

Mdog, what made it even more remarkable is that they had the 10 metre line for reference, O'Neill was clearly offside and then he bobbled the ball on the grounding. Unfortunately if Annersley even attempts to justify this decision then the only word that comes to mind is corrupt.

Unfortunately  game  management  has become the role of the officials rather  than the players. Rugby League has "laws of the game " but they are largely ignored or replaced by interpretations.

Be interesting to see what we do at #13 going forward. Waddell was the most effective #13 we’ve had for years last night, there’s points off him. I’m thinking Jacko may have to think about bench middle and so too for Elliot if Waddell does it again next week, he can get us metres and points, the other two just metres.

Funnily enough, the two most maligned players on this page, and plenty others... and I’m not claiming any wisdom here, I was in on it too.... are the two players that made the most dramatic difference to our performance and can again if they can keep it up - Waddell and Napa.

Katoa has been extremely good this game.
As has Waddell. The move to 13 has been good.
Dietz came on and immediately we are making 50m in our sets. You cannot underestimate the difference it does to the team

Talk about pumping a blokes tyres up.

Dietz went ok sure, two or three 10m runs... exactly the sort you’ve criticised JMK as being ineffective before, didn’t fall of tackles but at the same time wasn’t exactly in the thick of it.

The best DH on the field last night was Katoa. Particularly his service which had a not insignificant effect on how well Thompson and Napa played particularly and the 50m team gains through the middle in general. He was hitting them where they liked, when they liked and picking the right one to hit crisp and fast. Great vision, awareness and technique.

And really some of his passing this year has been atrocious, his greatest weakness.

But last night one of the teams greatest asset.

Yes credit where credit is due.

The middle suits Wardell and it suit Jacko, Topine should be one of the hooker options and it suits him.

Napa much improved, I know he had a disrupted preseason, so that is part of it.
Hopefully he stays energetic and motivated, no reason to go backwards from here.
