I asked this question some time ago but the answer was conveniently deflected. Are games between SM Hellas and Preston Macedonia still banned to the public? It started a few years back due to violence but wondering if FV have lifted those bans yet?

+x+x+x+xAs a kid i used to sit at the old Waverley park and watch vfl/afl games. There was a dust up nearly every game i went to in the stands somewhere- cops often there to break it up. Didn’t ever make the news though 🤔 and in the 80’s you sure as hell wouldn’t go to Victoria park as a non-collingwood supporter - unless you wanted to get bashed Well the afl has done a good job cleaning it up from the 80s Yeah- but backwards in other ways. the league fixtures are worse now. Every season Round 1 is Carlton v Richmond at mcg. Every Anzac day is Collingwood v Essendon at mcg. 18 teams that only play each other once per season. Only some play twice, home then away. Yeah great and really fair contest for all clubs 👍 Yeah that’s why I lost interest Hahahahaha that is a great comment mate ... SOOO different than the Aleague season :)

+x+xJames Johnston destroyed this morning on 2GB by Ray Hadley... talking about some policy from 2014 that was supposed to get rid of these ethnic clubs..? not a good look. good work guys, all so you could one up another race over a war that happened 120 years ago... thanks boys. it was a blade from a lawnmower not sure where you can find them unless you bring one. Yep. Had the misfortune of listening to JJ get eviscerated just then. I mean he tried to wriggle out as best he can but what can you say when boneheads like this cause a ruckus. All Johnson had to do is bring up Hadley's history of physical workplace bullying and wife beating. Amazing that this thug still has a job.

+x+x+xCrickets on the Sydney United social pages. No statement over 24 hours later. Hardly surprising. cause we owe something to you, do we lol? have fun being amateurs forever... would not be surprised if they banish ethnic clubs... we don't need em. They've been trying for 70 odd years to kill off "ethnic clubs", yet we are still around.... and always will be.

+xI asked this question some time ago but the answer was conveniently deflected. Are games between SM Hellas and Preston Macedonia still banned to the public? It started a few years back due to violence but wondering if FV have lifted those bans yet? Sorry Pauly, they are playing in different leagues so they can only come together in Doherty cup matches and there are no bans. But here is a little blog from the last time they played in 2013 which may warm your little racist heart.... They Only Come Out At Night/Working OvertimeChannel 9 were there. Channel 10 were there too, or so I heard. Apart from a flare thrown over the fence from the far side of the lake end after the match - which landed on the empty terraces and looked suitably pathetic - nothing happened, which was good. If only nothing had happened eight years ago as well, he says quietly to himself. Still, the media vultures went home empty handed, and they'll now have to manufacture some other story to fill in airtime. Good thing they're well versed in that kind of thing. There was also this comment by the famous (infamous?) Benjamin on the 442 forum: Ch 9 had a camera van outside Lakeside last night, ABC tried to get in (without tickets) to "promote state league football" and were told by security to "come back on Sunday". Everyone wants to stir trouble. There wasn't any, by the way. "Promote state league football". Now I've heard everything. https://southmelbournefc.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-worst-4-2-win-in-history-south.html

South played Preston in the 2013 cup, both sets of fans were in the same grandstand, Preston were struggling at the time, South won 3-2 and the Preston players were clapped off the field. Nothing happened.
Cant guarantee the same with Oakleigh and Preston next week but fingers crossed.

Someone better tell the Greeks and Maco's back in the motherland that they are meant to be lifelong enemies and fighting, otherwise the racists on here will have their minds blown..... NewsGreece-North Macedonia 'selfie diplomacy' warms relations Date02.04.2019 The Macedonian and Greek leaders posed for selfies during Alex Tsipras' first official visit. It marks a "new chapter" in relations between the neighbors after a decadeslong dispute. Greek Prime Minister Alex Tsipras was in the capital of North Macedonia, Skopje, on Tuesday for a landmark trip to Greece's northern neighbor. "Today our republic for the first time in its history is a hosting an official visit of a Greek prime minister," North Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev noted during a joint press conference. "We are starting to cover lost ground to build a deep friendship, not only between our governments, but especially between our people," Tsipras said. https://www.dw.com/en/greece-north-macedonia-selfie-diplomacy-warms-relations/a-48167079

Why would SMFC apply if all the members/fans believe it to be so plastic??!! I know SMFC has a long and strong history- and i read they have produced over 50 Socceroos players over the years?! Have great youth player development etc. Some pundits have even said it’s ridiculous that SMFC weren’t given AL license yet. If what i read recently is true No wonder you get annoyed

If what i read recently is true No wonder you get annoyed Your 100% right, yes we did apply for an Aleague license which was not granted... Many of us where furious at being misled but now, 3 years latter it seems we dodged a huge bullet. Being in the Aleague seemed like a good idea at the time and maybe, having a few real clubs mixed in with all the plastic ones may have made your league a little more legitimate in the eyes of the world but no, Lowy decided on Tarneit and the Bulls? Thank Christ for dodgy realestate consortiums....

JJ handled it well, Hadley is a massive football hater anyway so im not surprised he came out hard on this anyway.
Like others mentioned it just gives anti-football haters the ammo to get on our game.

Alot of us have moved on from all the crap. You're gonna have banter against us etc etc. Though most of us want ourselves and the opposition to go home to their families. Ah man if we get drawn in the cup it would insane. Oakleigh will be a hard test for us but im just stoked we are itching closer to the top league again. If you like cevapi I suggest butchers daughter in lalor. You can buy the chilli from most European delis some IGAS as well
