On form (as in without Castro) Glory are the weakest of those in attacking strength, but they all have great attacking players and we need to have our best defence in place to allow our forwards to score one more goal than them to get wins.

With a disrupted backline that is going to be really hard.

If Aldred has really done his hammy then he will be out for all of those games. Given Aldred walked slowly off and sat on the bench with ice rather than carried back into the rooms I am hoping it is tweaked and he came off knowing the schedule of games lined up. Wishful 2 weeks and back for Nix.

I thought Parsons would be wasted playing WB - but for a single game it is the least disruption to get an attacking minded left foot player there given he has been used sparingly this season.

I like what he shows up front. I can suffer him to be deeper for one game if he can defend.

I thought we had lost Powell at some point and did not know how well JCP would go.

IF we were to win our next 2 games, we would be on 29 points after 17 games. That is 1 point behind both second and third place after the same number of games.

Now I am not saying we will win (not saying we will lose either) - but again just a reminder of how tight this season is and how we could be contenders playing as we are.

Results really favoured us this weekend.

top 6-8 are really close if one team goes on a run then a lot can change, with city playing ACL (and going to lose Mclaren to roos duty) even top spot is up for grabs. 

Smac apparently in talks with city for a short term deal to replace Mclaren at city which is probably why he has been out of the squad. if it is true absolute dog act by Scott and should be no where near the team (and not released from his contract).

Good to see we got the job done without Smac.  Hopefully they can keep improving on converting chances. With Brown out and possibly Aldred out, it will be interesting to see what Moon does at the back.

If Moon wants to keep Macca and the club are willing to offload him,I have to question wtf is going on.
Considering Moon had no idea what was going on when questioned about his absence for the MB game.I can only presume he was not consulted.
Do the owners really want to Roar to win the competition or are they more interested in doing deals,which in this case makes no sense considering the money that would be involved.
Presumably Macca wants to go,which means MC have been in his ear.But its bizarre alround.
Macca is hardly at the peak of his powers.
For Brisbane its not much help losing Macca ,when we have GolGol and Kudo and ACL commitments coming up.

The owners are simply not interested.

I hope they lower their expectation what the club is worth and handed to someone else.

I'm not why people instantly blame the owners on moon comments of I have know idea what's going on. It was clearly a defection comment. It's a bad situation for the club and you really want it to be played out in the media. So I won't be bagging the owners about this until we find out. Given that Scotty had an issue at WU and left mid season to join us, it's not out of character for him to do it again. Like we all know players contracts are worth shit and no ramifications for them moving outside transfer periods.

Agreed, for all their sins I don't think there's any indication this has anything to do with the owners. Sounds more like a Scotty mac issue. He has been known to look out for himself. Probably thinks there's a decent chance of silverware at City if he can cover for Maclaren. No guarantee he'll bang in as many goals though.

My comment was a generalisation, not necessarily aimed at the Scotty issue.

If you sign a player who is likely going to get called up to National Squad, surely you know that and it comes into your calculations.
So if McLaren gets called up is it then right for the club (MC in this case)
to go steal someone's else's player to fill his boots.
I say No.

Maybe this will help with Aldred's recovery, but the scheduling is just going to get more tight for us - and the 9 day break is now going to be a 12 day break on Wednesday.

Can't be good for legs that are about to be flogged losing so much match fitness immediately before. Or from anyone who has done it - does this long break between games help prepare already tired bodies for the next few weeks of double games?

If this is true about MacDonald it certainly supports my impression of him while he's been at Brisbane, which is of a pretty unattractive personality. 

All you gotta do is make sure your keeper is fit. He's the one who's saving your arse week in week out.

If we can win our next three games (taking us to 18 played), we would be tied first. The ladder this year is ridiculously tight.

I love the massive “IF”

It's not the size of the IF in a fight, it is the size of the...oh, never mind.

It is a huge IF now that the squad list has confirmed that we are hamstrung by Aldred's injury.

The point being made I thought was not that we had a particularly strong chance of winning the three, but that from eighth place, with 3 games in hand, we could mathematically be equal first.

Absolutely crazy season.

And maybe just a little orange hope that we could win the three if I was being honest.
