+x+x+x+xI don’t understand how you feel about Penrith. Well maybe you should read what I said, it’s all there. I can read Zef. I just don’t understand the animosity. They are at worst over confident and maybe slightly arrogant. If we had a team like that wouldn’t you also be happy? We won one game and went off like pork chops Mmmmmm pork chops....

If a Bulldog team went two straight seasons undefeated and carried on with choreographed leaping try celebrations that would make me vomit I would hope the ghost of Steve Folkes would rise from the grave and bitch slap them while shouting “Just not good enough!” Just like Melbourne will do to the Panthers GF 21.

I think you forget the 17 in a row streak in 2002.. We did the same after every win and during some of those wins. You think A Johns didnt think we were a bunch of over confident brats back then? Try asking him. Panthers are just high on emotion but they have the skill to back it up with. I have no problem with them. And I think out club has no problem with them to the point where we recruited their attack coach and no less than 4 players

Marki, why do you always talk up the teams that are winning? ATM it's the pennies, the last couple of years the chooks before that storm. It doesn't matter how fantastic, skillful or dominant other teams are, as a true Bulldog you must debunk them entirely. I will agree with Zef wholeheartedly even if it was the Bulldogs destroying other teams that choreographed dancing , prancing and jumping up on each other is just arrogant show pony sh!t which I also hate.

While I am on the subject of arrogant showpony sh!t, it will only be a matter of time until the pennies taste their first defeat and I would hate to be there when they do. They are flying high, and the higher you fly the greater the crash. They are being worked out and yesterday the Dogs may have given insight to some of that. I think that if they go through the season undefeated and once again fail in the GF that will be the end of them. They will be tagged the "chokers". On the other hand if they drop a few games between now and the semis it will give them a better understanding on what is required and may just reach their goal.

I can get get a an ‘over the top’ celebration for certain amazing try’s eg that one with Burto and To’o, (how good was Burto in getting back in position to support Too), or a gutsy late try to win a match coming from behind (but they’ve not had to do that), but they do it every single try against even the poorest of D by the poorest of Teams... I hate em, along with 14 other Teams... The only Team I don’t utterly despise is the Warriors...

I can't imagine a bigger reality check than that.

I love football played at the highest level. Of course, I'd love it if it were the Bulldogs playing it, but alas, we are very far from it. That still doesnt stop me from appreciating it with other teams. I think we mentioned this previously that if the Dogs were kicked out of the comp, I'd still follow the game and most likely end up going for another team (storm being me 2nd favourites). I know some of you think differently and have stated that if Dogs werent in the comp, you'd not follow the game. That's ok. Everyone is different. Instead of hoping every team plays as poorly as us so we can be competitive, I prefer WE play better and at the top level so we can be competitive. And so I celebrate good footy.

ODF - I am interested only in the footy, the post try celebration, media coverage, commentators agenda, coaches comments for other clubs are background noise that I mostly ignore. Some of the tries scored this year by the top teams are great to watch.. 1. Storm. 2. Souths 3. Roosters 4. Panthers In that order ... best player to watch ... The Fox. If we don't win, I don't care who wins, as long as it isn't Parra. I also don't like the Broncos, Dragons and Newcastle winning. Roosters I mostly don't like winning, but this year I don't mind. I don't like the Panthers lads carrying on after scoring points, but they are just being themselves. I understand the background they came from and Davey Warner in the cricket is the same, growing up they needed to be aggressive and confident to survive it was an environment where the weak were crushed mercilessly and nothing was easy. I understand because some of my mates at school were similar, sometimes you need to be tough to survive and sometimes people adapt by being over the top. I understand why people don't like the Panthers lads carrying on, you didn't grow up where they did. In their local area, kids of the same age would consider it normal behaviour.

Similar, but I can appreciate top footy without necessarily liking the team that played it. If the Dogs were kicked out I would occasionally watch games, but turn off regularly. I follow other sports like soccer and cricket NRL would tumble back down the priority list, I might get back into NFL. The Dogs getting kicked out will never happen, I can see an early glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel, I hope that is not a drunk Dman wandering around with a torch. 😁

Penrith is a very different place to when your mates went to school there... And even if poor little souls like the human chin had to be tough to survive...ahem... their coaches could play a part in helping them understand the value in being a gracious winner.... especially against far weaker opposition... Most of these kids have been pandered to since they were 14 or 15... They’re not arrogant because of not enough hugs, it’s because they’ve had too many...

I don't see it changing, sportsmanship rarely happens in elite sport. I think our defense unsettled them a bit, regardless that is the way to play. The opposition were not gifted any soft tries because Katoa didn't play. I didn't miss Wardell, Elliott and Napa played well. Schoupp came in a bit too much in defense, but overall we defended well. The kicking game improved and at times our attacking shape looked good. I am talking about the Dogs, because that is what counts. Panthers will not change, maybe their attitude gives the opposition team a bit more motivation. Maybe opposition teams notice the way to play them is, hit hard in the tackles. I really hope Baz picks Daley ahead of Katoa, Katoa can play NRL when he learns how to tackle.

+x+xI got to say, and not just because of today, there’s no group of players I’ve come to despise so much in such a short time as these Panther players. The way they carry on after a try with their choreographed celebrations and even the way the Panthers as a club seem to think they invented football without winning anything... ... I am going to be so ecstatic when Melbourne go b2b beating the Panthers b2b in The GF I’ll be driving out to Penrith on GF night just to drive around and lauuuuuuugh out the car window. Celebrate that you arrogant with no justification to be arrogant f***’s.... except Burton, he’s a good bloke, the only one, but stiff sh.t he’ll have to cop the pain and bring the redemption to Belmore. I even hope Easts beat them, anytime, any game. Even the GF. Yup. My most hated team easily. Surely anyone who says they hate a team more than the Rorters: 1)..has to be joking or 2) has to be nuts.

For me it’s a bit like Cam Smith and co. (sorry ODF) good to watch play footy, hated em cos they were grubs and arrogant... Thurston was good at laughing in people faces. When kimmorley threw that pass in origin for instance. He laughed his head off in his face

it is remarkable how similar the game in round 2 and yesterday's were. Deep into the first half Penrith were ahead 4 nil....a bad error at the end of the half saw the same half time score as well...even final score and second half were similar. The score flattered Penrith on both occasions. Doesn't do much for us but it does show the gap may not be as big as it seems. I can't see where Napa had a good game yesterday...the commentator got it pretty right..."ambles up to the line". He is not going to be there next year and we are not going to win with him. I can't believe Renouf has been going that bad. It was a dreadful DWZ error but he has been pretty good...if not our best all year then close to it and was clearly carrying an injury yesterday. Losing Deitz was telling. I thought opening with him would be a good option and when interchanged Topine would give a little more backbone to the defence. There is never any space to have a "second" team

+x+xMarki, why do you always talk up the teams that are winning? ATM it's the pennies, the last couple of years the chooks before that storm. It doesn't matter how fantastic, skillful or dominant other teams are, as a true Bulldog you must debunk them entirely. I will agree with Zef wholeheartedly even if it was the Bulldogs destroying other teams that choreographed dancing , prancing and jumping up on each other is just arrogant show pony sh!t which I also hate. I’m with you 100% Marki. I love the game. Watching the Panthers play is great fun. Melbourne play a great brand of footy as well. Even Manly are exciting because of TTurbo.
I’m a little older these days snd hating every club does seem very childish. I still dislike certain teams, players and coaches but hating on them just gets boring.
I just want us to be good enough to play like Penrith or Melbourne

There is never any space to have a "second" team Napa was good in defence it was one of his better games thus year, Elliott much improved in attack and defence. DWZ needs to forget that flop back unless we ardd trailing in the last 10 mins. The last 3 weeks we have been better than the scoreline indicated. Most weeks a few bad errors have cost us. Averillo is much improved but the pass to Doorey tgat he dropped looked too hard. Conceeding a length of the field try was a tough penalty. The strip on Schoupp was good play by Cleary again we paid the naximum penalty. Wakeham put in a good kick for Averillo that the Panthers just scrambled dead, the game was closer than the scoreline indicated.

Watching them playing badly or getting flogged is almost as enjoyable.. especially Parra. The only bad games are 2 teams playing poorly or one sided a game where the better team is coasting. Add Panthers to the list, aside from the Dogs, the only other club I like is Mounties.

Really wish the TV stations would stay with the play on the main screen and put the replay in the little box in the corner.::
Tgis crap with the bunker gaping back two or three tackles to give a penalty dumb...
