Simulations on on online websites and Twitter seem to suggest that Oman, Lebanon and Vietnam are strong contenders to squeeze into the 12 spots for the next stage replacing Qatar, Uzbekistan and Thailand who made it last time.

Uzbekistan are still a strong chance, particularly if Saudi has wrapped up a guaranteed spot on Match Day 9 and treats their Match Day 10 clash as a dead rubber.

Kuwait and Jordan are the other realistic chances to make a late charge if either team can win their game on Match Day 9. Likewise if Jordan win that they will be hoping for a half serious Australia on MD10.

A lot of favoured teams remain under some pressure and can’t afford a late slip up.

Since Qatar (hosts of FIFA World Cup) won Group E and they advance to 2023 AFC Asian Cup Finals only, as a result the fifth best runner-up take Qatar's place in the World Cup qualifying third round.

Lebanon are 1 nil down on 62 minutes against Turkmenistan, a loss could be very costly so they will want to go all out for an equaliser.

Lebanon went 2-1 up in the 76th minute and lost 3-2 after letting another 2 goals through in the last 5 minutes.
