Both teams have no linespeed or intensity in defence, the good weed was only supposed to be delivered to the Sharks sheds...

+xPoor effort from the team after Thompson went off. Too many mistakes.
Okonbor needs to play in the front row. He just doesn’t understand how to defend out wide. I feel sorry for Schoup who has been great at times. But between Lewis and Ok he just has no chance.
JMK needs to learn when to pass. He just takes too many poor options.
Napa is a Neanderthal I am starting to agree with someone who said that Avo is looking like another Mbye. A supposed great ball runner who never runs the ball thus making it too easy for the defence to cover our backline. His terrible kick on the 4th tackle at the start of the game put us on the back foot for the whole half. Napa, OK and Meaney not up to it.

+x+xOkunbor needs to improve his defence. he is useless -continually comes in and never trusts his centre I think the problem is more fundamental than one player. This situation continually happens on both sides of the field with multiple personnel. I heard on the radio early in the game that the Sharks had specifically trained for this situation as they recognised our weakness.

Both sides could shiffen up their defence by throwing some female netballers on.
Defence is soft every carry.

+xWe need to bring back Wakeham. Lewis is a great guy, but just doesn't have it. He should have had a fast player in support and pass immediately. Another of our problems. Short on for fast players

+x+xTo be honest, Meaney's head us already in Melbourne, Baz could hook him now, leave the fullback spot vacant and we would even notice to difference. ODF…. Why are these guys still being selected in farking 1st grade??? Guys like Meaney, Napa, Floppa should be nowhere near this team!!! Okenbur is a farking statute…. Get rid of him now, Lewis with the charge down… he runs 50m, gets tackled, and we fark up a major overlap with Allen getting the ball and running towards the retreating defenders…. Then newsreader throws the intercept
WE HAVE THEEEEEEEEEEEE BIGGEST BUNCH DUMB ARSE FOOTBALLERS IVE EVER SEEN OK would be better if he was a statue and anchored to the sideline...

Unfortunate that Thompson plays a ripper of a game, runs for over 200m, scores a try, sets up another, might even be Man of Match.
Yet we lose by 20....(atm)

Why he does not chance his arm is beyond me, he is not a natural playmaker, Bindi is. I would love to see him have a go at fullback. Pearce for 2 years would be great next year. Even Bindi a go in the next few games. Thommo had a whale of a game. He is a great 13. He will appreciate the quality players coming on board next year, as will Jacko. Again we have to look to the future

+x+xAverillo…. His kicking today has been atrocious Farking hell Averillo…. He is a young guy, just having a off day. Kicking is a weak area in his game. Him and Lewis just don't combine well. Averillo has looked good playing with Wakeham. We need Burton to do more of the kicking next season. If Averillo doesn't combine well with Burton we need to rethink things. Lots of dumb errors in attack and defence from most of the side. The highlight for me was the defense of BBO, very good the whole time,

+xConfidence is shot. A smarter team would recognize this and swap the player podition with Lewis doing most of kicking. I don’t think he’s ever played with confidence. Starting to have real doubts about this bloke, how is anyone to have any confidence in him if he constantly looks like a deer in the headlights. I’d try BBO at #7 next week. He’ll be playing NRL next year, just a matter of where. And whatever happens it won’t be through lack of confidence.

He seems to be kicking right to left when he should be kicking left to right. No excuses for those kicks, but the set up look wrong. Lots of our play looked awkward and disorganised.

Just shovelling the ball, no inside runners, no double pumps. He is a runner, and lightning off the mark, why not use that step and speed. Frustrating. BBO near the end actually did put the defence in doubt but Jake just grubbered the ball over the dead ball line. Dont get me wrong I have been Avo's greatest supporter but he seems to have lost confidence. I cannot see OK ever being a first grade winger. I cringe when he gets the ball or goes after a bomb or when the opposition goes wide.

The problem lies with the Dogs believing the halfback is an organizer and the 5/8th is a running half. Theres no such thing. Both can run and both can organize. If 1 starts the game as the intended 5th tackle kicker and is getting smothered on last tackle, it's up to the whole team and mainly the hooker to recognize this and change. Averillo has been 1 of our better players each week this year. He had a bad day with boot and second guessed too much today when he should have just pinned ears back. Once again, all because he wore number 7 in his back. Shouldnt have mattered whether it was 7 or 55 or 88. I wouldnt put a line through him, but I think the decision to move Lewis on needs a review. Theres every chance Lewis and Burton could be halves next year although if we do in fact chase Pearce, it could be a fait acompli

I cringe when he gets the ball or goes after a bomb or when the opposition goes wide. He is very young, and he needs to get back to running the ball that is the strong part of his game. When young halves stop running the ball their game always goes backwards. I admit he gad a poor game, probably his worst game of the season. I am still backing him long term on the basis of speed and footy instincts. Maybe he needs a break from the intensity of NRL, but maybe the coach just needs to have a chat.

To be fair, Lewis is left footed and also kicks from left to right side, but he nails it more often than not. Someone like A Johns or Cronk should be able to spot this, but so should Barrett also.

Odviously Flanno should be 7. Zef is right, BBO is more of a 7. I'm not sure Lewis is even a 6, Lewis did make some good tackles and did some good kicks, but our attack rarely looks crisp and well organised when he plays. At one stage the Sharks were regularly falling off tackles, but our ball movement was slow players were catching the ball standing skill. Watch Baz go grey at a rate of knots.
