+xMacarthur have put out a statement confirming Genreau will be headed to Toulouse. Apparently it was in the works before the Olympics too. It probably explains why they went so hard for Mutch.

Jamie Young has officially left Brisbane and is expected to join Western United.
Big blow for Brisbane while a great pickup for WU.

That’s even more random than Brandon Wilson’s move!

Not a great move since there are only 8 teams and 28 games per season

Unsurprisingly that Belgian team Arzani is off to is also owned by CFG.
So is the club Waring has signed for.

Genreau's transfer to Toulouse was apparently according to Transfermarkt, 500k Euros. Which is his market value on that site. So not sure how accurate that is.
But that roughly translates to 804k AUD which Macarthur receives. Good investment by Macarthur, which they hopefully use to pour some resources into facilities and/or the next 'Genreau.'
Hopefully we start seeing more of this.

Play a promising Australian player, develop them further by giving them a 26 or 32 round season length, develop them even further with international exposure to get in the eyes of scouts and get the benefit from a transfer which makes the club money which they can redirect their efforts in finding their gem and ultimately all of this helps the national team!
If only this was the motto for every aleague club instead relying only on TV money to make their money, there is a billion industry sitting in front of us but are the clubs aware of this? Or is Australian football still following the australian sporting landscape which has little relevance to overseas markets?

Canada, Iraq and Thailand all made more income in the transfer market than Australia when I last checked.

After watching him during the Olympics, it’s just bizarre the level he’s dropping down to just to get a game. He wouldn’t of looked out of place in the Spanish team and they’re all LaLiga regulars.
