Vietnam look quite technical, yet they set up like like oman. Completely rubbish pitch, park the bus and hit on the counter

they look like they would be better off playing a bit more expansive with their technical qualities

At least there were glimpses of better play when Vietnam came out more. Result there and they need a massive video session and a warning.

That was three points we didn't get when we played Thailand in Bangkok last WCQs. So good result in that regard.

I don't think so, Thailand in Thailand was the same last campaign, we looked poor because of the conditions and got a 2 all draw.
Every time youre in SEA, if you get out with the 3 it's a plus.

Playing in such humidity on a cow paddock is far from easy. We lost points last time in Thailand. Could easily have happened again. 
Can see Vietnam snatching a couple of points if they have any more home games in summer conditions.  

We were one lucky ball away from losing points for the entire 90, or even a loss if they got that pen.

People will point at the possession stats, but we weren't in the driver's seat in that match.

Hopefully the next WCQ window will go more smoothly for the squad.

Yes, Rogic doesn’t last 90 mins in Scotland so playing him 90 mins in Vietnam is madness. He got kicked a bit too. Hopefully he pulls up ok. I doubt he’ll be ready for his weekend game for Celtic. 

I think these sort of games show how much we need Boyle who has the attacking flair and tries to take players on.   Barely any of that seen tonight was all lofted balls.  Very horrible midfield of irvine rogic hrustic mooy at one stage arnold serz having a laugh.  Taggart was absolutely useless duke looked alright when he came on and at least made movement.   Bring deni juric into next squad give him a go

If his coach wasn't Ange, would he have been played for the 90? Having said that, he was still running at the end, more than Mabil and a couple of others.

The television coverage was pretty dismal. Way too much time spent on close ups of the Vietnamese coach, most of the time when the ball was in play. Way too many close ups of players not on the ball when the ball was in play. I found it quite frustrating, and that was before even considering the pedestrian nature of Australia’s play.

The equation against every other group opponent will be different. They'll attack, we'll have a better pitch and we'll be in a different frame of mind. Stupid split decisions will cost us but I expect more space and a sharpness in those games and hopefully better conditions.

Vietnam were fairly clever to limit the damage and we can't play against a packed box. Shouldn't be too harsh on Taggart. His goal against Jordan shows he needs the space and opportunity. 

Job done, points we needed. Duke better than taggart. It would be nice if we could mix up our pace up between slow and something else. Rogic was toasted and mabil looked like he was hurting. Not sure if I think Sainsbury is great or just nervous that he'll do something sloppy or crazy.
