+xDoes anyone else think that the Pamfers premiership window is closing? It will be next year or year after if they dont have succession plans for Burton, TPJ. They still have strike power across the park and can play well to the current rules so they wont drop off rapidly like we do. They lost a close one tonight. Just lost their way abit and failed the last pass afew too many times. They should win easy against winner of Knights v Eels so it will come down to how they go against the Storm in the prelim. If they beat the storm, I'm tempted to call them premiers no matter who they play in the GF

From my view of the game penrith couldn't match souffs. They got behind on the scoreboard and struggled against a determined souffs defence. Sutton wasn't exactly unbiased in some of those calls which gave Skeletor satisfaction out of his little cry during the week. The pamfers did try hard but not having their regular fb did hurt them. I think we really dodged a bullet by not going for stains,he made a meal of it tonight. Burton gave his all as usual.

Certainly blown one side of the comp wide open. Easts, Manly and Souths all a good chance to play a GF that otherwise they wouldn’t have, reckon Manly might make it, all depends on Turbo.
The other side the winner of Melb v Penrith are Premiers unless they choke on it in The GF.
Premiers = Melbourne.

He's just nowhere near offering a legitimate second option in the halves atm. Penrith can still beat most teams as they have good skillful players across the park, but against someone like the storm or other top team that can shut down their plan A, they need Luai to jump in and play plan B. If he cant get back to form, they will likely hot a roadblock against the storm. Even the eels might get them.

I reckon Luai is gonna be Penriths greatest regret because he’s the bloke they chose in front of Burton. When Gus said, a year two years? ago that Burton was the best half they had coming through he was looking straight at Luai as the square peg. I don’t rate him as highly as many, bit of a flat track bully IMO. He’s never performed well in a team on the back foot, Panthers play poorly the worst of them is always Luai. Meanwhile, Burton was the best player in beaten teams for Panthers.

Funnily enough I don't really care much for the semis (only because the Dogs aren't there) but do wish Penriff luck and hope they have a red hot go. Maybe this loss is the one they needed as a wake up call. What I do care for is that Burton, TPJ and Naden have a good end to the season and come over in reasonable shape.

Plus a faux penalty try to the scum...... The betting agencies must want a pamfers-scum semi.

Meanwhile, Burton was the best player in beaten teams for Panthers. That is a criteria I use to judge players, playing well in a beaten side. From what I saw against the Bunnies the Panthers didn't move the ball enough and didn't execute in attack enough. I recon Burton is a cross between Luai and Cleary with a better running game than both. But all 3 are good players, Cleary is an exceptional kicker of the ball. I wad disappointed that TPJ didn't have more impact. He had a few weeks out of the game and a difficult time off the field, he isn't at his best. They went Luai and Cleary becuase they had a good combination in the lower grades. IMO the Penrith forwards lack a bit of punch an a critical line break from Yeo wasn't back up. Considering the opposition, I'm on the Panthers all the way next week. The slimies and wining semis mix like oil and water. Shame both teams couldn't loose today.

So the top 6 march on.... As much as i wanted the eels to lose, i think their time will come next week.
Now i just need Manly to win.
I don't care who wins it as longas its not Eels and Manly.

All signings have an element of risk, but sometimes they work out better than expected. We need to tell TPJ he is a leader at our club, help the boys win the battle in the middle. He can do it, just needs to be motivated.

But if Sutton or Cummings is the ref they would give a few fortuitous rulings.to even up the contest.
