+xJoe Lewis, owner of Tottenham Hotspur is being indicted for insider trading by the New York DoJ. You can't make this shit up. If I were Ange, i'd cut and run. What a shit show. He's walked into an absolute dumpster fire. Holy crap, what a shitshow.... Still no worse than other EPL owners some of whom will one day (if there is any tiny crumb of justice left in the world) be indicted by the Hague for crimes against humanity.

As if Lewis doesn't have interest in own club despite handing shares over the daughter would have been for accounting purpose's and possibly assurance in case he suddenly drops off......86yrs young and a 4B $ man. How many owners attend games ? f all but they keep their ears and eyes open. Levy acts purely by his influence like any CEO. Bayern paid LFC £35m transfer + £250,000-per-week for Mane and he was like their 8th highest paid player. Bayern's wages are right up there so its a typical mexican stand off between both clubs and player. Paying 100k for Kane is a bit OTT imo but Bayern are forcing the hand by the look of it and Kane is holding stations. Bayern have made it clear to Harry Kane's brother/agent Charlie that they're relying on the striker for the future & willing to offer him a long-term deal. The club is offering a 4 to 5 year contract until 2028 with a gross salary of more than €20m/year. 1yr left on current contract, he's been loyal for a long time but somethings got to give - Bayern are in CL and likely Bundas winners whereas does he have the gumption to perserve a rebuild and 4th manager since his first signing and no Euro games next season. In his position/age I'd be going but is he one of the last bastions like Gerrard staying loyal. Sorry for Ange but this is just one major hinderance at this stage, still no CB's and another mid or 2. Window close's Sept 1 so plenty of time I guess.

+x+x+x+xTottenham owner Joe Lewis has told chairman Daniel Levy that Harry Kane must be sold this summer if the striker refuses to sign a new contract. Fake News! This is a beat-up story by ManU journo's. I agree it is probably fake news, not only because Lewis has shown no interest in the workings of the club previously but also because he handed a lot of things over to his daughter last year. I doubt she even has much interest. Handing over shares of a trust to his daughter may be a way to proportion liability or some kind of succession plan in case old Mr Lewis kicked the bucket, The real truth is that Kane is open to the move if Spurs/Bayern can agree a fee, otherwise he will stay with Spurs for a year and keep an open mind about the Ange project without committing until proof of concept. Either way, this is highly disruptive for Ange not to mention the shambolic pre-season they've had thus far and the lack of signing any CB's. I am just learning things but apparently she attends games and is a fan. I agree with you that Kane is at least open to the move to Bayern, he probably wants to move. However I am not sure Bayern will meet Levy's price to sell him, their second offer was still a long way short of what will be required to convince Levy to sell Kane. The falling apart of the tour with the cancellation of the Leicester game and the loss of Roma as a good opponent is a big blow. I am not sure how he can fully evaluate players like Ndombele and Lo Celso to decide whether to keep them or not. Ange is not even working on the defence because of the lack of CB signings.

This is a beat-up story by ManU journo's. About as real as the "Mbappe interested in Spurs" talk .... Gotta love the EPL off season eh :) oh too right, the amount of articles up on the same subject drives me nuts as well. Worse the intro goes through the same BS before getting to the smallest detail of new development. Time-saving tip, with any online article start reading at the 4th paragraph. The first three paragraphs are just there so you scroll down and trigger the ad views. Unfortunately this is common practice on any free news site these days. Then at the bottom of an article it is becoming more frequent that they just insert a rehashed few paragraphs about a previous related article. All so more ads get triggered as viewed.

This off season seems worse than ever due to the many new variables, the Saudi outcomes but the the EPL Clubs are going mad as are the Championship Clubs. Some of their clean outs are 11 and more. Nice to see Boro the 2 aussie additions. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12878368/transfer-news-summer-transfer-window-2023-championship-ins-and-outsAs for Kane scenario, I don't think that would be entirely fake news, as an owner I'd be sic my key player hasn't confirmed yay or nay and I would tell my CEO just as been mentioned, if he's holding out clean it up, we need time to buy a replacement.

+xThis pre season tour has been a disaster. Jet in to Perth late for a jet-lagged kickabout with West Ham. Get to Thailand for no game and Roma in Singapore replaced with Lion City Sailors. There's still one against Shaktar then the Joan Hamper trophy against Barcelona but I think some games against Bundesliga 2 clubs being a few weeks ahead of them would allow for some very intensive practice. Lucky they have a bloated squad where they can at least do practice runs in a competitive environment, albeit with shit defenders. I think they are trying to arrange a couple of games behind closed doors. Not sure when/where.

Season opener is just around the corner and they’ve played one pre-season game. Remember the ECL qualifiers Ange had with Celtic, plus I think some early cup games? He still needed 6-7 early league games for his team to look like they know what they were doing, even with a squad vastly superior to the opposition. Anyone feeling confident about the start to the season? I’ve never really hung out on EPL forums much, but am now keeping up with Spurs and geez the American fanboys are cringeworthy.

Tonight’s friendly against Leicester City has been cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch and adverse weather conditions.
The event organisers, based on a recommendation from the match officials, deemed the pitch at the Rajamangala National Stadium unplayable and unsafe following heavy rainfall in Bangkok.

Today’s pre-season fixture against Tottenham Hotspur in Bangkok has been delayed due to adverse weather conditions. A final decision on the status of the game will be made by the match officials at 17:25 local time.

+x+xAnge should go for Laporte very good on the ball has that french connection with other players he would be cheap compared to other names thrown around. Laporte has already rejected Spurs I think. That's interesting considering the Athletic Bilbao links maybe he wants to go back to Spain. Thought London might entice him to prove Pep wrong.

The issue for Ange is Spurs underwent reputational damage last season. They are now a mid-table club with an un-proven EPL manager (proven in other leagues though). The Kane saga dragging its heels also does little to convince potential signings that Spurs is a compelling move. Ange has a HUGE task on his hands. Any player will go there for money.
Look at Saudi Arabia.
Nobody cares who is coaching.

If I were Ange I'd be looking at Nectar Triantis (even though he's just gone to Sunderland).
He's going to be an outstanding player and would be really cheap right now. Wouldn't be an immediate starter but would be training in an excellent environment and would be challenging for minutes by the end of the season, depending on whoever comes in before then.
Mind you, if NT wants to play at the Asian Cup, he's more likely to play at Sunderland.

+xsome nice football to watch...no surprises with the score line tbh all the obvious things need to be sorted Agreed. Might have scored 10 goals on another day. Spurs did OK knowing they are only 2 weeks into learning Ange-ball and have useless CB's that will be cleared out and replaced by match day 1.

+xI thought Spurs were incredible last night going forward it was evident from the first 10 minutes that their defence is a massive liability and needs sorting but once it got to the midfield, the link up play and creative combinations was fast and deadly if the finishing was better this game was over in the first half... In the second half even with the massive player turnover it continued if not was at a higher level then the first.. For me so much to look forward to and you can already see the impact Ange has had on this team already, seems like the players have bought in to what Ange wants, get that defence sorted and they could be in for a great season. How was the third goal they conceded? Old mate was caught flat footed with his body shape all wrong. Should have been turned slightly side on to anticipate the pass. Also was too far away from his player. Honestly if that was a player I coached I'd be tearing strips off him. Amateur hour.
