Just not good enough. Beaten by a better team. Simple as that.
Though shouldn't have gotten to this. Time to SOS Bielsa.

Lol. As if ppl thought we would qualify for a world cup with Arnie in charge. Has selected every non Australian player he could find and still couldnt make it. What a joke. Such a huge impact from Bruno. What did he do that DAgostino wouldnt have done

Congratulations to Japan. They are a top team, but man we are lost in the football wilderness. Can't score, struggle for possession and need a new coach. Gutted

We were clearly beaten by a better team but honestly the selections were bad again (from what we had) and the changes were waaaaay too late for a must win game

I would have bitten your hand off for a scoreline being 0-0 with 10-15 minutes to go, shattered we didn’t fire a shot at least at the end.

What a joke! Archie saying that Arnie hasn't had the support of the FA. Was he around in the 2018 qualification period? UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Why wasn't Isiais, Holland and Smith called up? Far better options than Stenss (Holland or Isais) and King (Smith).
Jeggo and Karacic should have started also.

+xGood game to watch tbh awe are just not good enough.
Well done Japan.
Unfortunately for Australia technically that was hugely embarrassing Japan held possession with the ball, won possession without the ball and varied their passing options. Australia was robotic and clueless. Tilio and Ryan are the only two players who can take this team further. Folami had one minute to express himself and will come good. Arnie and the rest of the has beens have been an absolute failure.

+xJust not good enough. Beaten by a better team. Simple as that. Though shouldn't have gotten to this. Time to SOS Bielsa. It is not just beaten by a better team. Oman, China (last 15 minutes), Saudi Arabia outplayed us also. Back in the day no matter who we play ,,,at home we are 3 times strong and attack. Under Arnie the players couldnt string 3 passes. If U don't have skills at least show the fighting attitude playing at home.

It’s important to fail. Australia has had it too good whilst their Asian supremacy has continued to dwindle. Not good enough. I’m sorry, but the amount of money and resources available to the game in this country should see Australia do far better than it does.
The tall poppy syndrome and politics destroys it, from grassroots clubs right through to the top level. It’s a breath of fresh air having the likes of CFG in the A-League. They have a global focus including with scouting. Australian’s just don’t know what they’re looking for in a player. These issues are typical of Australia, culturally speaking, and not just unique to football.
A world class footballer will have a great technique with an creative intuition to handle any given situation. Our best players, on a technical level, have a couple of cute tricks at best. It’s just pathetic. It’s not necessarily their fault, but Aurelio Vidmar once said, “because of politics, this club will never win anything, until you get rid of that crap”. There is a lot to learn and to be done.
I don’t want to go to World Cup’s if we’re just making up numbers. After all this time, it’s pathetic. Even the US gives it a better shake. We need to liberalise the football system in this country so that clubs from all levels in this country can be rewarded financially for producing good players. Some clubs are starting to produce, and some players are getting top flight games in this country, but we need hundreds of these players.
Honestly, we should have a steering committee made up of our best coaches, headed by Ange. Everything he has said in recent times suggests that he can identify the issues. I’m sure there are others. The c’unts making the decisions need to listen.
Too little, too late. We needed to fail to have any chance of some well-overdue reflection. Not just superficial crap - a proper rethink on everything we do in this country.

Arnold has a truly spectacular international coaching record. And Johnson says his job is is guaranteed through the play-offs. That's is a definition of football suicide

Hurts. Certainly did better than I expected. A lot to consider. Saudi game offers a chance to learn a bit more.
Credit to Duke for doing his best. It was very frustrating to see Grant not go forward. Hope to see Atkinson get a go.
