+x+x+xsome thing like 10x missiles already have hit Ulkraine then the entire syria conflict in five years Wow, maybe the US can send Putin some of those humanitarian Napalm canisters they have been using to roast people alive since 1947, that is such a more civilized way to treat unarmed farmers. Not sure of your point? My point is that pushing a statement designed, by its nature, to be a "whataboutism" proves what exactly? Don't you see that saying "ooooohhhh Russia has dropped way more bombs than what happened in Syria" is the exact same thing as me saying "yeah but America is shit as well"?

It was just an example of the amount of terror in a short time.
Both are atrocities

the Putin apologists and right wingers always resort to whataboutism
the fact remains, Biden has a long history as a man of peace since he worked with Madeleine Albright and has shown remarkable restraint from escalating this

In Ukraine they are called the tik tok army.
Best at killing farmers and gay men. And posting on social media.

Putin doesn't need those. He has thermobaric weapons which suck the lungs out of your body and been used extensively since Chechnya. (And in Syria.) See also chemical weapons and phosporic weaponry. But yes the US have an equally set of disgusting weapons. Absolutely fair.... Poor Russia has never had the chance to drop two nuclear weapons on a civilian population though so maybe its time to even the ledger???? Point being "War is hell" and all this jingoistic chest beating from the media is fuelling garbage debate and anxiety for feeble minds ..... nothing else mate. It's not jingoistic and it's not chest beating. It's one country invading another independent country. People are rightfully upset. Humans are, like it or not, tribal and what we see in the Ukraine is confronting and upsetting. Shit that goes down in the Middle east or Africa is equally bad but outside our frame of reference and is happening to 'others' so we tend to blot it out. (I know if anything comes up regards Israel for example I just tune right out.)Just because A is happening over there doesn't mean B happening over here doesn't count. Plenty of people have demonstrated in their millions and argued and long and hard about American involvement in the many conflicts since Vietnam if not earlier. (Many people, me included think dropping 2 atomic bombs on Japan without giving them a demo elsewhere first was a war crime). I think you are framing this wrong and your anger is misplaced. This sentence is EXACTLY what I am angry about Muz..... "Outside our frame of reference"??? C'mon mate what the fark does that mean? Aren't muslim kids and African kids .... kids? To alleviate everyones fears I HATE RUSSIA AND I HATE PUTIN....... Its not about "whataboutism" its just that I really, really dislike the narrative building up around this latest US "crusade" and it seem to me (Maybe I am wrong) that MSM and social media is LYING to us all. Yes they are. Of course kids are all kids no matter where they're from. I'm just trying to explain why some people care about some things more than others. If someone murdered your neighbour or a family member you'd be a lot more upset about it than someone who got murdered 3 suburbs over. It's human nature. It's not malicious it just is. I would wager if there was an attack on a Greek orthodox church you'd be more fired up than if a catholic church was bombed. And this will sound like I have tickets on my self but I/we sponsor 3 African kiddies and have done for nearly 20 years. I do care about other peoples but when a mad arab from a medieval 14th century shithole is blowing up another set of mad arabs in another 14th century shithole about which imaginary sky fairy said what then I tend not to give a shit.

Your points above, while true, are also not an explanation for how easily sentiment is being manipulated to suit a narrative THIS TIME. Same can be said ( your points above) about the Balkan wars in the 90s or the Albanian PKK or the Georgian conflict or even the Chechen as you rightly brought up...... something is rotten in Ukraine and I don't mean the oligarch's puppet Zelensky or the poor Ukranian and Russian people who are the martyrs in all this...Putin is the pantomime villain, a modern day Bin Laden or Sadam or Gaddafi.....Someone wants a war and my opinion is that it is the US and Not Russia..... And news.com telling me why they are convinced it will be all out nuclear war in between news stories about botched boob jobs and MAFS sex scandals......

I was more talking about about the non stop rhetoric - usually from conservatives or just the non critical thinkers‘what about this’ etc on social media. everyone finds all these wars horrific. People wants to help the Afghans. It’s not like we can all lob up the train station and welcome them in like they did in Poland though.
Interesting Balkan war example - they did actually accept refugees here and let them stay without permanent visas and let them stay while being processed.
I remember it well. I had a gun at my head.

Imagine if Trump or any republican said anything as reckless and potentially catastrophic as “Putin cant remain in power”. Imagine all the vitriol and an insanity that would pour forth from the media as they accuse him of “trying to incite an insurrection in the Kremlim” and “kickstart nuclear WWIII”. It would be fucking media mayhem. Different standards for Republicans and Democrats.

What sort of wanker is on the side of Putin?
Unless you’re an oligarch it’s incredible sad and pathetic that anyone would stick up for a despot.
You get arrested now if you even hold up a sign with nothing written on it. They’ve gone so far past banning free speech that that’s where we’re now at inside Russia.

Its not a binary Putin = bad, NATO = good equation. Even though Putin IS bad, Russia has always vehemently opposed NATO expansion along its border as it sees it as an existential threat to Russian security and sovereignty. Nevertheless NATO and US have continued expansion east, ignoring Russia’s concerns and advocated for Ukraine and Georgia’s admission to NATO. This would be the equivalent of China forming a bilateral military pact with New Zealand or Canada, not a good thing to have on your doorstep. So while Putin = bad, NATO have also fucked up by misjudging and miscalculating Russia’s concerns while seriously underestimating his willingness to use warfare and nuclear threats to achieve his objectives. Then there is Biden and the Democracts, including Obama, whose empty threats and feckless deterrence has emboldened Putin and enabled him to stroll into Ukraine unimpeded. Pointing out what a shocking leader Biden is and faulting NATO for their handling of Ukraine doesnt mean you support Putin.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xsome thing like 10x missiles already have hit Ulkraine then the entire syria conflict in five years Wow, maybe the US can send Putin some of those humanitarian Napalm canisters they have been using to roast people alive since 1947, that is such a more civilized way to treat unarmed farmers. Also what some cannot even understand is the simple facts that it’s a lot easier covering a conflict in Europe because a - there’s a tonne of resources already there b - logistics are easier in getting there and around c - you’re not risking getting your head cut off d - war in Europe is not an everyday event d- the majority of people can relate to it through either family all travel.
I swear the more connected we are the more moronic people have gotten in grasping simple concepts Oh, I might be moronic sometimes but I do grasp your simple concepts.... just dont agree with them at all. I pray ( yes to the make believe fairies in the sky for all those who find a lack of respect in other people's faith a point of honour) that I am wrong and that the intentions of the US and NATO are honourable and peace loving and all they want to do is protect the blonde haired, blue eyed democratic Ukrainians I wasn’t calling you moronic.
Hey man that's farked up, sorry you had to live through that shit.... Through soccer I have friends who lived through both side of that bloody war and believe it or not they have different opinions of who is to blame..... As for helping the Afghans and the Syrians...., well your beloved humanitarian Europe has been building fences against them for years now ( yes yes, dont get excited Greece is included in that statement) and even now reports are that Hungary, Romania and Poland are vetting asylum seekers by the colour of their skin...........
