+x+x+xHuge aussies abroad news that went unnoticed is that Adam taggart returned for cerezo a couple of days ago off the bench. He’s our best striker IMO. hopefully strings a few games together and ready to go for June Him being our best striker shows how bad things really are. He's terrible for the socceroos so 6 goals in 16 games. 6 starts, so scores every start for socceroos. K league Golden Boot winner 2019, been injured for ages now. What are you expecting? Haaland numbers? does he need to score 8 in a game before he's good enough? holy shit some people live in a fantasy world. Mind you, Genreau can't get a look in as a midfielder despite playing for a team top of ligue 2. It seems we are much better at producing players in some positions than others

Funny you didn’t mention how four of those six goals were against AFC heavyweights Chinese Taipei.

IMO it’s stiff to say he’s terrible for the roo’s considering there are not better options than him

He's only scored 1 in 12 for Osaka though, is in and out of the squad and has struggled with injuries - no one is saying he isn't a good player but basically he's completely out of form and has fitness issues. In top form he offers a good goal threat, maybe not as much as McLaren but not far off, albeit with more holdup play and better linking.

If you watch Taggart off the the ball he did a lot of good work leading to goals. The flick in transition for the Boyle goal against China, the determined push to get the ball to assist Mabil. He could've just given up. The soft shot (reverse angle shows it was bloody tight) which thankfully led to Boyle scoring against Oman.
His link up play in the other games was decent. A good hour Japan away hitting the post unluckily. Think the Boyle, Taggart combination was the strongest of the campaign and once that fell away among other problems it all fell apart.
I wish he actually scored more but his involvement in goals and movement to create chances is more than Maclaren has ever done.

Atkinson starting for Hearts in ~40min in the Scottish Cup semi final vs Hibs. It's on Kayo for wanting to catch it.

Even yesterday Tilio on the ball has the bit more and can get out of tight spaces albeit ball was also lost. In moments where it works out it's that little extra. True his loss did lead to the Thai goal. It was a good experience for the young players in a challenging environment. To that front 3. The campaign peaked at the Hrustic goal in Japan and that one counter where we stuffed it but it felt they were going for the win. From there it was all downhill.

Iredale starting Irvine too. Borrello bench.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Iredale with a somewhat assist. He's latched onto a ball which the charging keeper has seen deflect of him for another attacker to slot away.

St Pauli got pipped by Sandhausen at the death and it ended a draw. A massive two point loss that in a very tight promotion race.

Weird we started losing without him... its like he makes intelligent runs off the ball to make space but people too dumb to see it.

Degenek subbed after 60 minutes for Columbus in MLS this morning. Don't know if he was injured or just not playing well, but he got fairly low ratings on FotMob and SofaScore. Brad Smith not in the squad for DC United.

On paper the standard has become quite impressive but the football is frequently awful, way below what you would expect considering who they buy. Watched it for years living in the usa including recently

He’s done &@$! all at Cerezo Osaka. Just can’t walk into the Socceroos based on his form three years ago.

https://youtu.be/xGyUNmF3X9EWiesbaden highlights. Iredale involved up top. Wish he'd gotten to that square ball. He used his body well for the shot in the second half. Interesting is his reaction to goals and missed chances is always some strong kind of emotion. Seems the determined and even a bit of the good greedy type.
