+xany word on when the squad will be announced, 1 week till the friendly I suspect after the Grand Final. Last look at ALM players and to make sure injuries aren't a problem.

What more does Jake Brimmer have to do to be part of the conversation?

+xWhat more does Jake Brimmer have to do to be part of the conversation? Simple, go overseas and do it at a higher level than his rivals. We're well stocked in midfield, McGree for example only has handful of caps yet he plays regularly in the championship.

Peru v NZ on shortly. Worth a watch.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

https://youtu.be/oR7zWxCKAWQNZ Peru highlights. They were afforded a lot of space. If we play them we have to hit hard like against Chile in the Confederations Cup.

As a Peruvian born and getting feedback from family back in the homeland, Peru are fully expecting to play Australia in the play-offs, hence the friendly against NZ. Despite having 4 starting players out for the friendly fans were not happy with the performance and Australia (should it get past UAE) will be tough to beat, despite what is being said about the side.

we're going to get embarrassed, they wwill draw us out exactly like new zealand then pounce on our error and win the ball back.
Peru would of been a good game to have BVM a good solid setup and try frustrate them, we wont out play them and they will cut us to pieces as we try to play up the field.

Interesting info 👍 Peru definitely still favorites to make Qatar though. Australia (like last time they lost to Peru 0-2) will struggle to score from open play 🙁

Do NZ play the long ball as a plan B against the likes of Jordan? or employ slow methodical build up play? 😉😔

https://youtu.be/sjyU-EKJ_0EI didn’t watch game but looks like NZ did some build up play rather than just long balls. Peru unlucky hitting woodwork twice

Peru will be tough but they are beatable. Not easy for them playing in Middle East even if they are better than us.
Obviously a lot of South Americans in Spain, but maybe they will have a lot of travelling fans.

Agree Peru is definitely beatable and the game against Australia (assuming Australia gets past the UAE) will be very even. Peru has a lot of ex-pats living in Europe so not surprising that we occupied 99.9% of the stadium :-)

Not true, it's just Arnold that is bad. Realistically this side is better on paper than the one in 2018. We have much more depth in every area.

Thats one more than we have now.

Least confident I've been since we started qualifying in 2005. Even if we beat the UAE, which even that is doubtful, we won't get past Peru. What is the actual kickoff time please?
