After the squad announcement and the Grand Final where our main Socceroo striker was MIA we might want to start looking for that new manager now. JMac will have the UAE quaking in their boots again 

I think Piscopo stakes a good claim. He's in the gap now of not being eligible for Olyroos but the Roos are still just that little better. I beg to differ though when I see Leckie is surely done by the end of this year and Mabil isn't exactly reliable.

Shanghai’s last game was Jan 9. So fairly confident it was our last qualifier. Bloke would’ve been holed up in an apartment somewhere since.

I just hope Arnold finally gets that if Dougall or even Stensness or a rag doll sits behind Hrustic and Irvine, they'll be much less panicky. I can't see Irvine starting though if we want to fit Taggart, Boyle, McGree, Rogic and Hrustic in. 

I agree that it would be better to play them as wingbacks but yes, we need our best midfielders on the pitch and three Centre backs can't be justified, we will just need our 6 to cover on occasions. 

I've run the lists and while having Atkinson and Davidson as wing backs looks interesting, it just can't be justified to play 3 centre backs.

It's some extra cover but our midfield and creative types higher up need to be on the pitch. 

The last time we played UAE Degenek lost the ball that led to the goal that cost us the game.

For me it depends on the formation. Comfortable with Davidson at lwb, at lb not so much.

You just know Behich has an own goal in him v UAE.

Don't mind Davidson's selection. Joel King played really well against Vietnam, however hasn't played a lot at club level, where's Elder has played 28 games in the championship. He should be our starting LB, let alone making the actual squad!! Behich is one of Arnie's favorites, so he'll be starting anyway. 

I’m shocked that Grant has been left out. Very happy that Taggart is back. A few positives at least. Along with a couple of head scratchers.

I don’t think Arnie has a say in the Gk department, it’s likely Crawley being an arse.

100%. The ONLY reason i can think of for Redmayne inclusion is his penalty saving abilities when he does the wiggles thing that worked for SFC v Perth grand final shoot out

thought cummings did well in the all stars and would get picked.. Arnie sticking with his guys

Redmayne is almost useless compared to Birighitti - even Young.

Arnie thinks Redmayne is our 3rd best Keeper? Guess that says it all.

Davidson's had an excellent season but I'm not completely convinced he's a better option than Smith or Elder. It might be a case of out of sight out of mind for them, especially Smith. 

Even if we by some miracle make it through with this team, Arnie has stuffed it royally.

Great look for the players trying their guts out when you have blokes like Macalaren who more then once have said they don’t think they can play as they have other stuff on getting picked. Surely Cummings for him at least.

Elder sometimes captain In championship yet not good enough for socceroos what a joke.  No devlin luongo or jeggo.  The squad seems light on proper holding mids  apart from that I guess the rest is expected great to see Grant out

Struggles to be first choice at SFC ... IMO at least three better keepers in the A_l... 

Concerning thing about this selection is that should anything happen to Ryan our next cab off the rank is either Redmayne or Vukovic who hasn't played a single league game this season.

Birighitti should clearly be chosen ahead of Redmayne.

Can't believe Redmayne has been included. Probably won't matter but still... 

I like Daggers, but Cummings has been one of the best strikers in the league. Offers more overall than Daggers & Maclaren.
