Victory have signed Noah Smith and Timotheou.
As an Adelaide fan, I can’t express how hilarious the Timotheou signing is. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning, this is amazing.

I missed that Rene Krhin, Jerry Skotadis and Ivan Vujica all left Western United. Surely Skotadis has something else lined up? Dunno WTF happened to Vujica - he was a prospect at Jets.

+xWanderers also signed Aidan Simmons from Sydney’s youth team. They have now announced another scholarship attacker in Nathaneal Blair.

How do people rate most of the moves within the A League? I don't feel a sense of recycling with the majority of them.
A lot are players going somewhere else for hopefully more opportunity so I can see the improvement potential there.

Recycling is virtually non-existent now and I think a large part of that is explanation (players now get paid more) as well as better youth development. There are more younger players playing and those players are better than the ones who came through a few years back.

Guaranteed to be a comment or two on any announcement of a player moving between A-League teams.

Journeymen seem non-existent these days, there's one or 2 but incomparison to 3 years ago, good turnaround.

Look sometimes a player turns their career around when they join a club and I’m happy for them. But I like seeing a player stay at the one club and try be a established player so the fans can know the players. I think a player joining three or four different clubs is a bit boring

Good signing. DM was the position where I thought Jets were weakest. However, absolute joke that he's been allowed to leave a 3 year contract with no more than, 'I don't wanna be here anymore,' I'm sure Perth Glory invested a lot of money into getting him fit and firing and for that not to happen and him leaving when the manager clearly still wanted to keep him is a huge example of why a full domestic transfer system is needed. Contracts are literally meaningless in this league. As much as i like to believe offering longer term contracts is good for player retention and development, this is ultimately what keeps us at our level.

Actually if I remember correctly, didn't he come 'home' to Perth because his family were going through a tough time and he wanted to re-settle his young family. So much for that.

They want to settle away from home now so they are again moving for 'family reasons.'

Contract do mean something and its only when its a mutual agreement that they are terminated.

Re: Brandon O'Neill and contracts.
Can we all finally wake up and smell what is happening in this league? Players have always had the power with their contracts. Clubs want to sign longer deals but players and their agents keep them shorter. Stop blaming clubs for not holding on to players.
Every player that moves mid contract is usually instigated by player/agent. Clubs hands are generally tied when signing contracts and then during contracts.
If this is allowed to happen so frequently by players then I'd like to see clubs trade players like they do in the USA sports leagues. Dictated by clubs. We'll then see how players and agents like to be held over a barrell for once.

Moved back because his father was battling cancer. He unfortunately has since passed.

Schalke have signed a good keeper from Berlin. Forest are looking at loaning Henderson. Two places I would've liked to see Ryan go.
