+x+xAs much as I want to stay up for this I'm wrecked after this morning. Would love a win though. We play the Saudis at 11pm AEST tomorrow night (Wednesday) - not tonight. Just in case you got the day wrong (or I have). Oh thank God you're right. My sleep deprived brain stuffed up

Best fortune for the U23s tonight against the Saudis.
With the senior team qualified for the World Cup, there is every chance that changes from the squad that qualified may come from the U23 squad.
If JRB keeps performing in this tournament and at club level he just may join some of the team mates from the last Olympics in the World Cup. What players from the U23 squad do forumites think may make the senior squad?

I think JRB is the only one with a shot at the moment I like Francois and D'arrigo but neither of them are getting in with our midfield so stacked. Farrell, bos and miller are all good but unlikely to get a game yet. I'm not impressed by any of the strikers to be honest and don't think any are likely to get a go.

I'm amazed that Nizz hasn't had much time so far, he's been one of the best defensive midfielders in the AL for two years and is an excellent holder of possession and passer. I suspect that even those who've picked him doubt his ability due to his stature.
IMNSHO he's just about good enough for the Socceroos squad but won't be taken seriously until he gets picked up by a big club overseas.

His closing speed, astute defensive work, stealth attacks, surprising holding strength and foot skills are all well worth watching.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.

For the game tonight, I have a horrible feeling that the Saudis are going to incite Brooks and Yazbek into stupid behaviour and get them carded - possibly off. Frustration seems to get to both of them and a game of sportsmanship in a significant game could see them sucked in. Miller's size and strength also makes him a target for weak legged behaviour. Looking forward to the game. I have found them to be entertaining at the least, and an excellent window on some of our best up and coming players. Come on you good things! You can do this.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.

+xI think Miller could make the World Cup team Is Miller 2 footed ? If he makes an impression at Hibs he could push for the 26.

Well I'm pretty sure we'll have a large training camp in the September international window to give a few extra players a go so you never know what can happen after that.

Yes, agree that Miller with his size, and form, and move to Hibs, could find himself in the WC squad.
Nisbet impressed me earlier in his career, but he will need to lift tonight, if he plays a part in the game, as will a lot of the other players. Don't see him part of the World Cup squad at this point.
D’Arrigo is an interesting one. Hopefully he can make an impact tonight, and the Aussies can progress to the Final.
The Saudis u23 players no doubt will be eager to stake a claim for their WC team to.
Game just over an hour away...

It’s crazy how much more hyped I’m feeling about this Olyroos game now that the senior team is on a high. Really would love to keep the Australian Football purple patch going and see us qualify for the final.
Will definitely be tough though as the Saudis haven’t conceded a single goal all tournament. We might need a shootout to settle this game too!

Oh come on 17. He's gone down like he's got a broken foot and now he's sprinting again. Blocked ball and saw it was a risk so he went down.

Bility looks to be a pretty average CB. Not been impressed with him this tournament at all.

+xBility looks to be a pretty average CB. Not been impressed with him this tournament at all. Holds on to the ball too long and makes risky passes into midfield. what happened to Tokich from the qualifiers?
