I recon the women hit pretty hard in tackles.

Some of the male critics would change their opinion after being tackled by some those ladies.

Some have got speed and footwork, they catch the ball well.

What is missing is slick passing.
They can only get that from years of coaching and playing regularly starting at age 14-15, perhaps even 12-13 for girls.

Yep it will take 10-15 more years for the women's game to reach the same standard as the men's.

How much better for RL in general & especially RL in the Pacific if this game was played in Port Moresby or Suva. At best a half filled stadium at Lumeah. All the supposed commentators are like cheer leaders.

Good game, the fans would be great if it was played in PNG.

PNG bench forwards won it up the middle.

Kicks didn't get good enough service.

He didn't seem to be too proactive in getting involved. We need the Panther version.

He has games like that and occasionally comes up with bad misses in defence.

The key is to give him early ball.

Also rotate him most games, 80 mins increases the chances of him cruising. That is exactly what T-Rex did when Des played him for 80, conserve energy.

Fiji halves were inexperienced and didn't move the ball well.

Burto is on fire.

Should be given a chance to play at half for 5 or 6 games without chopping and changing.

He is the most natural eyes up player in the halves and has a good smart kicking game. Would have loved for him to be given a go with the team right now which is gaining confidence in what they do.

Pretty piss poor from Perth and Optus Stadium to not have had the ground ready for this SOO show piece.

There's absolutely no justification to not have excluded any sport for a good week at Optus so that thry can erase the AFL markings.

It's disgraceful they couldn't afford the SOO some respect

Burto was great and Gus let everyone know. I’m guessing we are going to announce a big contract for him soon. The kid could end up being one of the best ever. 

He seems to be waiting to see what's  on offer from other clubs. No hurry for him as his price is going up. Some one like the Roosters if Keary gets another head knockmay pose a problem. We need to remember he is not a player with any long term ties to us, so loyalty is not a factor.

I think we will know by November if we are a chance of losing him. And I’m willing to bet he will have signed a big contract before then. Gus knows this is his big moment to secure the future if the club. 

Best signing since Terry Lamb...may not be a stretch. I think he has exhibited an excellent character and will be here for the long haul.

TPAs run counter to the stated aims of the salary cap. At various times the NRL has put the value of TPAs at 3 to 5% of the salary cap. As with all statistics you need to dig a little deeper.
5% of the cap is around $470k per club or $7.5million overall. The SC is distributed evenly over all clubs but I believe TPAs are in the main available to around 5 clubs. Now we have a $1.5million difference.
We won't get rid of TPAs so the question is how do we minimise their effect. This is where it becomes difficult and the best approach would be to ensure true value is on the SC. Maybe all contract offers should be registered with the NRL, who would vet them, ensure they were within the ability of the offerer within their SC and set the deemed  cap salary for a player accordingly.
I also think the 95% minimum spend should be scrapped. Teams with inferior rosters are forced to pay top dollar and  for multiple years restricting their recruiting ability going forward
