I hope that the referee appointedwill clamp down on tbe diving antics by Davila and Arzani

I hope that the referee appointed will clamp down more on rough play by showing more cards than were handed out against oakleigh thugs

They would be screaming like little girls. The Scottish junior league is way more harder than the senior leagues. BTW junior does not mean underage in Scotland, it is the step below the senior leagues.

I once saw a man try to fight a referee while holding a baby over there in a game near Dundee.

Not so much hard more idiotic and unhinged.

I was actually referring to the so called playing style adopted. Not for the faint hearted.

The incident you described would be nothing out of place at a junior match on any weekend the length and breadth of the country. 🤣🤣

Is there going to be a game on? Nah, not interested. ;)

I think it is going to be a ripper. Both teams can play football, have good cohesive play, and want this big time.

On a personal note (and not to become a focus of the thread please) I have always disliked the different perspective between 'Aussies with Croatian ties' as opposed to the 'Croatians' who go to the games. However, I have enjoyed watching the progress of such teams in this Cup, did not mind the support in the game against us, did not feel resentful of them beating us, and am looking forward to the final even though I won't travel for it. That, in my mind, is no small change.

Hope the football is good and both teams have great games.

When I wear their colours, I am the club.

Commbank has one side of the stadium for active support as safe standing. It's where the RBB normally are.

Macarthur will be on the other side of the stadium.

The safe standing equipment is removable so it may or may not be in place at the moment.  Has anyone checked whether it will be installed for this game?

How do you figure mate? Which league is this a promotion for the NPL NSW that just finished or the Algeaue that just started (or has it not yet?) If an NPL side and a new franchise with barely any fans manages to get a better crowd/atmosphere to a final than the champions of professional Australia did  earlier this year this will be an embarrassment to the APL rather than a promotion.

Why dont they just let people stand in front of their fold down seats (I assume the stadium seating is fold down?) why this extra expense? I dont get the purpose. If its to prevent crowds crushing each other like the original intent to do away with standing only terraces, surely having seat rows is a better preventative?

The "sport" of football in this country is anything but lacklustre mate... Massive participation rates, 1000s of clubs all around the country, interest in never before seen numbers for overseas leagues and players.. Aleague maybe floundering but thousands attending Soceroos and Matildas games and the couple of million plus who will get up in the wee hours in Nov to cheer on the Socceroos is NOT lackluster.far from it......

Crowd surging can cause death.  The first question for someone doing a risk analysis is can the risk be eliminated?  If it can be that is the action the person responsible for safety at the site must take.  If it can't be then, how can the risk be minimised?  ... and so on on down the hierarchy of acceptable actions that a so called "reasonable person" might take.

Yeah I did a dig on the link and see what you mean... Awways thought that rows of fold up seating would be enough but looking at imagtes I get the fact they would be not as effective at preventing forward surge. Also I note that EPL stadiums seems to be gong one further and having these barriers AND fold down seats in the rows.... seems a much more elegant solution.
