This is the perfect platform for the game to take the next step in this country.
The challenge now is to not let this rest. No, let up.

+x+xFor what it's worth Neuer has done it plenty of times. It's the stupidity of thinking they can use their feet. I swear defenders don't often think about the difficulty they put the keeper in when they do those passes when the other team is pressing. It's the equivalent of a rugby league hospital pass. Pretty much all keepers have been undone like that. No it wasn't. By thanks for the checking in, Maty.

+x- the "1" was pure luck, and kind of embarrassing
- Argentina should have had, at least, two more
- one of the "2" was a keeper howler
- we parked the bus for the first hour
- only Licki's fluke got us into the knock-out game -- definitely no 2006 ver.2.0
- we were hopeless against France Republic of Africa
- Arnold's "lob it in and hope" strategies leave a lot to be desired
- we have no strikers
- Mooy will retire
- Ryan should be banned
Based.

+x+xArnold is an embarrassment. Both against France and Argentina he waits for the game to be gone to make a change. This... But, as Dan Andrews was re-elected, we all know Arsenold will be praised for getting us beyond the group stage -- especially after being filled out like a BBC application in the first game, and only eeking out a draw in the second that we should have won. That is to say, Australians suffer from a kind of Stockholm syndrome where we're compelled to praise that which holds us back. If more of us turned off T. V. Ultra and put the culture into a global context, we'd see the reality of this cultural foible, as plain as day. Fozz will fellate the 2022 effort; Bozza will shit all over it (even if not while sitting on the SBS panel 🤐). The latter will be closer to a honest assessment of the performance, than will the former will. You seem very strange so I'll figure out how to block you after this. You seem like one of those poor souls that built an identity about being part of a 'freedom' movement that was really a bunch of different grifters crowd funding impossible litigation and pocketing the money. Graham Arnold will hold us back but socceroos may improve in the coming years of the back of some of our decent young players.

Completely disagree. He was about to make the changes before Ryan's error. Arnold has been unbelievable this world cup. Yep. The change was coming. We were ready to push. There was a clear plan. We planned for everything except a player who can’t even spell his own name You don't reckon there were instructions to play out from the back? It happened against France too. Natural instinct for both errors playing out is to clear the ball unless you're instructed otherwise. Of course there was but use your brain. Get passed a shit ball with two beating down on you don’t try to dribble them ffs cmon man It was a mistake. Get over it. Boys did us proud. It was a cracking performance. Even Ryan made some key saves at the end. And do we even score if not for the howler? I don't know. It would have been a different game. Argentina might not have relaxed so much to let us back in it.

That performance was better that the 2006 performance vs Italy. For a start, we played against 11 all game. Arnold did better than Guus with a far less talented team.

Arnold cost us the game by not making subs at half time and instructing our players to play out from the back under pressure (happened vs France too). Boot him or we never get any better

I do hope he retires though. A nice bookend to his career

Can I get a reality check on Behich? Other forums are calling him MOTM. He was solid, had 1 great run, but neither Argentine goal happens without an error from him. What’s the opinion here?

We were incredible. The Argies were so relieved it was quite the compliment really. The what ifs are always horrible. Behich and Kuol so so unlucky. I’ll stop talking about Ryan now but I never ever want to hear an excuse for him again in my life.

He was almost our player of the tournament to be honest

Pretty much all keepers have been undone like that. Ron Robert Zieler says hello. It's something we ourselves could at least eradicate by just going forward or kicking it out. Every weekend there are many moments like that across the football world where you realise there is a better approach.

Negligent foul that saw first goal come. Others needed to track but that was bad leadership. De Paul pressed him from 30m away for the second goal. He waltzed to receive the pass then went back. Way too casual. Yes, a fun run and blocked shot. Some good late runs but his rating is a 6.

+xI'm proud they did better than expected, argentina are going nowhere. Ryan and mooy should retire, Ryan did have two good games but that's not saying much he's been awful for a long time. The lack of proper strikers is a disgrace and needs to be fixed, we seriously went to the tournament without a real striker. Arnie needs to go now. Ryan had two good games as the shots were straight at him.But coming off his line to catch those corners were good. Tonight I suspect his view was blocked by Harry Wall of China in that first goal.Though if he had worn oversized gloves for his height defeciency I suspect he could have touched the ball. The second goal when he saw the wedge rushing at him he should of just toed it instead of the small tap forward. But to be fair we didn't have his view point and don't know what he was thinking. But I still think another keeper should be given a chance to move the team forward.

He got wound up by Messi and got sucked in to a silly free kick. He was in our top 3 best players on the pitch for us though, in my opinion. That last minute run could have led to a penalty if he was a little more street smart.

The second goal came after 3 decisions/errors, 1) Behich takes the ball with the wrong body shape. He takes it correctly and passes forward then there is no problem. 2) Rowles was put under pressure and his keeper was already under pressure. He needed to turn and put it out. 3) Ryan with two players on him needs to just put it out. He takes a touch and loses the ball. Equally if he had tried to put it out there was probably a good chance it gets blocked and goes in. All three players had good games apart from those decisions (though the foul by Behich led directly to the first goal) but we tend to hold keepers to a higher standard. My disappointment was once again Hrustic. He came on and we went from 2 to 3 to 4 and then 5 up front. He seemed to want do it all himself and continually lost the ball when his teammates were calling for the ball and we were sent scrambling in defence. That led to less time in their half and less chances to come back.

+xJust watched the Kuol chance again. Gutted. Can't fault him. Seeing gaps with net behind the keeper. If only. Crystal ball stuff we'd hoped with him. My god what a campaign. Proud, frustrated, gutted. Great at least there is a few decent posters on here instead of all this negative shite.

Some of you really need to get with the times. We have to keep playing it out. All the serious sides do it. Booting it downfield just gives the ball back to the other team 90% of the time. Yes, embarrassing mistakes like that happen from time to time, but let's not go back to the 80s pls.
And let's not forget that playing it out allowed us to get a foothold in the first half.

Behich was immense going forward, and that run was Maradona-like. The foul before the first goal was unneccesary and dumb though.
