+x+x+xSo I guess attendance is gonna rocket down now. Are we looking at averages of 3k? I'm genuinely curious if it will or why it would affect, for example, Adelaide crowd next home game. Not sure we will know if it did either given crowds fluctuate so much on weekdays in holidays The general opinion online has been people are over the a league now. Families might feel safe to attend anymore. It’ll be interesting what happens next round It is evidenced time and again that the Apl has to pay for Trained Officers that would handle hooligan situations, with abilities to call on more reinforcements if needed, to patrol certain darbies. The fact that they are visible, families and peaceful people feel safe and confident to spend money and watch those matches. This is what active support despises and has complained about in the past, they are very much the minority so they can piss off. What is needed is a SWAT division looking right at any actives All Match, infact to make them nervous. Actives don't make clubs any substantial amounts of money or even bring in new markets, they are a deterent if anything, a faction of emotional loud people. Over various matches, some got up and walk out, elsewhere others stormed the pitch and assaulted people, others walked out to then walk around and sit at the opposite end of the pitch, pretending they had left and others got up to leave and sat back down because they're team just scored a goal. Either way, majority of any crowds never followed any active supporter groups in the A League. Keep walking to the AFL.

I don't know how other people roll Georgeg, for me I cannot feel satisfied or content when I think of Australian soccer/football, so I think of other aspects in life more often. I know that the sporting code will always be perceived as a minority sport, chaotic, underdeveloped and second to everything else in Australia because sport is judged on the pinnacle of the most successful sporting codes in the country, as too the top five or so football leagues in the world. Here it has never seen the best version of itself and probably never will, it has always eventually failed. Can you tell with the lack of crowds and the selfishness of those who run the A League? My personal perception of this to potentially start to change, would mean that the head office must Stop causing chaos for any reason whatsoever, there must be no less than 16 teams through further expansion, therefore, min of 30 rounds, besides Australia cup or Asian competitions. A NSD with pro/rel so it has a proper relevance in the first place, Transfer fee economy and the loaning out of players becoming more common, every team to play out of a rectanguar suitable stadium, representative of where they are from. What Ange said about the J League is right for over there, where things just fall into place, But Soccer has a Far More complicated existence over here.

Funnily enough the J-league restructured its model after the Asian financial collapse, a few clubs ran into financial collapse. This heralded the 100 year plan and the model of a division 2 promotion and relegation. Maybe our administrators can learn a thing or two, build it so it’s inclusive and expansive. No more closed league.

No more closed league. They just don't get it. This Football code, At Any Cost, needs expansion with very wealthy backers. Why should these new markets get held back because Jets and Victory are shit? A second division with pro/rel, ok, after two seasons it must come in. What is the point of clubs caravaning teams around the place without pro/rel? The NSD is mooted for 2024, I need to see it to believe it. Next a transfer fee economy like every other country. Western Utd need to have a home out in the West even if its shit, just get one. The Football pyrmid or template must be put in place to operate with the correct structures going forward. The Fandome will gain traction and increase, the game will build momentum with all these implementations.

Brisbane and Perth are a real worry there!
Adelaide's realistic ceiling is probably 10-11k as an average so actually doing alright all things considered. Pretty sure the only years we have had higher than that we had MV@Adelaide Oval games bump us up. . City, Jets and CCM should be up maybe 2k in an ideal world as well so they are disappointing too.
It's a bit sad that City can't do better than this with the best team in the league for years

So the Roar building a stadium is a lie and they’ll never go back to Suncorp. I imagine the attendances and interest will dwindle as long as they play out of North Brisbane. Not to mention they have zero footprint in the area.

We had over 10k last week vs Perth. The only reason I think you MIGHT be correct though is its going to be 40 degrees here that day. I'm going but I've been struggling with the decision. That's just too hot to watch football let alone play at any decent level

Good to know. And Brisbane? EDIT - learn to use the word literally correctly for fucks sake. Drives me nuts. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 people, however capacity will be capped at 4,500 for the 2022–23 A-League

Not to mention they have zero footprint in the area. I keep saying this, the sooner Roar get rid of that owner, the better. Having said that it looks to me all owners are trying to keep costs down as much as possible and really don't care what happens other than that.......as long as they keep getting that 80% of the TV money to keep themselves afloat.

When we got 13.5k against them pre world cup it wasn't coz they brought 4,500 people across. Far more likely the weather is what will put people off. Even a 7pm game means leaving your house when its 39 degrees still and that's just insanity

I'd much rather be on the couch with the AC blowing.
