I find this whole tweakers bowling around the wicket thing at the start of or a couple of balls into a spell to be highly negative…

Warner out due to concussion… I hope he’s ok but jeez it could be play straight out if the Rabbitohs ‘how to’ medically retire a player…

This next wicket is critical, any first innings lead is a big advantage.

+xThis next wicket is critical, any first innings lead is a big advantage. I tuned in an hour or so ago and saw 7 for around 140 and thought.... "Oh, we might end up with an 80 run lead" Wishful thinking... We'd be lucky to trail by 80....

Ok I am happy with a 1 run first innings lead, but don't take my instructions so litterially.
Did Villi get that catering gig at the hotel near the ground?

If we opened with Gary "the goat" Lyon a match winning double ton was in the bag.

last nights game just showed how much Panthers are gonna miss Korisau and Kikau.
It gives them four and counting majors problems, two I don’t think they can fix, the others they may or may not find a workaround.
Defensively is the two I don’t think they can fix. korisau in the middle and Kikau on the edge we’re crucial to their system. And while their system probably good enough to still be one of the best, it won’t be like it used to be, probably ever again. And teams are gonna target Luai all day. And while he’s a decent defender, that’s not the problem, the problem is now he can be targeted and made to work all day. If he was targeted in the past you’d run up against Kikau and the tactic would backfire, not now. Much the same as good luck to any team trying to target Burton, if so meet Kikau and count your lumps.
Attack wise the obvious is they don’t have Kikau on the edge, but a change of style they could find a workaround. Not quite as easy with Korisau, they’ve really got next to zero creativity from DH with Whatsisname now. And this is gonna put so much pressure on the halves to do it all and I don’t think it was any surprise they had their most ineffective games in years last night, they had to do it all and we’re targeted heavily because they could be. Again the might find a workaround but I think their gonna find out what it’s like having a stiff at DH who asks no questions of the defence.
Unless they got someone coming through they’ll be in the market big time for a DH for ‘24. In hindsight I’m surprised they didn’t make a play for JMK. Sure he’s no Korisau but he’d give them more than Whatsisname and got a higher ceiling.
They’ll be there again, but no Minor or Major Premiership this year. The best teams will have Luai tackling himself to a standstill and smother Cleary and Luai with no concern of anything coming from DH.

I recon that we have poked our nose in front in the cricket, especially if Head, Labs and Smithy all post 50+.
Momentum in sport is all important not just in a game, but in a series. Coming back into a contest from well behind creates momentum. It is surpising how often a team that was cruising in the lead crumbles when the contest gets tight.

Definitely worried about Manly round 1, Turbo will be back.
They look good, fit, determined, skillful, fit and fast.
The Roosters seemed to lack a bit of defensive intensity and were a bit clunky in attack.
The Cheese at 9 needs a lot of work.
Manly will be very good, we need to be better.

Bugger - one post from me was all it took to sink us in the test.
Manly look unbeatable for round 1, 😉
