+x+x+x+xWhat happens this process ends up with a champions league style format? Or an expanded NPL Championship tournament?? Are we satisfied? Would this make JJ the Messiah we all believe he will be for the sport? So exciting. Will be getting the popcorn out mid-year for the big reveal. Gonna be like a Bachelor rose ceremony. 🌹 🌹 I won't support it if it's a cl format. Happy to stay on the sidelines until I get what I want. Did me quite fine ditching the aleague. There will always be the NT. More to the point, I'm not sure how many of the EOI-32 will bother joining a CL formatAAFC (23 of the 32) firmly declared their preference for a League Format (with P/R to NPL straight up) Correct me if I've misinterpreted the FA, but doesn't a CL format imply that it is to be played by champions? I interpret it to be essentially a knockout comp where the winners of the various NPL's compete for a trophy. If they can't get 10 suitable clubs, then the bids are no longer relevant as they are bidding for a full league not a knockout comp. A CL format is only a small number of games, so clubs wouldn't need to meet any of the requirements that the NST would. It would just be a short comp for the champions. It may not be preferred, but I can't imagine any club declining to compete in a national CL. I dont think anyone would decline to compete in this competition per se, after all it was, up until 2019, a regular fixture of the NPL sporting calendar... All premiers of the various NPLs participated in the NPL Champions finals series to crown a NPL Australia Champion..... Only problem is that this will be a limited matches "exposure" to national competition, without any real difference to what is a bare bones competiton anyway.... Unless the "best of the best" outside the Aleague is competing for a full season Australia wide, the whole thing is pointless.

My worry about a CL format is that it would almost certainly push the NST discussion way back. Once that decision is made, I doubt they would look at a proper NST for another 5-10 years. That being said, I don't see why they couldn't have both. CL with the champions from the NST and the various top level NPLs.

In theory, the proposed League set-up will 'upon maturity' start Promoting from the NPL An end-of-season competition of some sort may well be required to seperate those with claims to that Promotion spot anyhow

It really is that black and white ....

For them: "kicking the can down the road" is a win. When the FA changed the terminology from NSD to NST that was about as big a hint as you were ever going to get as to where their thinking was (or at least, purposefully keeping their options open, because the odds of achieving a traditional structure were lengthening by the day).

They dont need "fine print", they show their disdain towards football every single day.

This proves, once again, how lucky we are to have Johnson driving the change in football in this country. He has the ‘ear’ of FIFA and will continue to change the structure of football administration to reflect its place as the global sport that it is and change the attitudes of those who see football in terms of its ‘place’ in the landscape of Australian sport. We will get the tiered system that I for one crave, the A League will join as the top tier once the tiers below become established and it won’t be ten years away as some are suggesting.

Bag JJ if you must but at least his last 12-18 months seem to bring about some small changes to the closed shop cartel ponzi scheme way of doing things ... If even just one of the reforms he is pushing for comes off we will all be in a better position moving forward.....

Any way, you can't call the introduction of the NST 'reform'. It's evolution.

Just some new timber floors, a coat of paint and maybe some new lighting. Foundations are still the same though. Nothing wrong with a renovation though. Let's just hope they do the whole house and not just the kitchen.

The rumours have started on the NST, a major sponsor is in the pipeline at a level not far off the ALM ISUZU Sponsorship. An 8 figure sum over 5 years. Interest also from a national free to air broadcaster, that will promote this sponsor and provide opportunities for Clubs to attract bettter sponsor deals for themselves with national exposure. A couple of more sponsors and it will be cost neutral to be in the NST.

Accurate? pfffft If a DTS, fair and equitable voting rights to ALL stakeholders and a clear plan for both Aleague expansion and eventual pro/rel were all part of Lowys grand plan he wouldn't have left with his tail between his legs, taking his gormless son with him..... Expansion, NSD and eventual pro/rel were indeed all part of his plans. We know the olf FFA wanted the main voting rights and now look at what we have which resulted in - the total control of the AL by the APL (we know how well they're doing), the bulk of the TV money to the APL (not a cent spent on promotion), the lack of additional funds to other areas (APL hogging it all to themselves although the FA have some but not enough) and no action in injecting public interest in the game such as utilizing marquees. Nothing revisionist here, just a poor outcome that all can see.

+xThe rumours have started on the NST, a major sponsor is in the pipeline at a level not far off the ALM ISUZU Sponsorship. An 8 figure sum over 5 years. Interest also from a national free to air broadcaster, that will promote this sponsor and provide opportunities for Clubs to attract bettter sponsor deals for themselves with national exposure. A couple of more sponsors and it will be cost neutral to be in the NST. If the rumour is true, this will be great that there will be enough funds to support all the clubs to become professional. Which is a must for it to provide that gap and succeed. Otherwise, 3 years tops.

+x+x+x+x+x+xI thought it was FAs announcement about letting blokes play with chicks in their competition. Yep. Lucky we have JJ 🙄 Hahahahah nah Im almost sure that was an April Fools prank also.... who knows these days though right? Bag JJ if you must but at least his last 12-18 months seem to bring about some small changes to the closed shop cartel ponzi scheme way of doing things ... If even just one of the reforms he is pushing for comes off we will all be in a better position moving forward..... You mean the reform that Lowy started? Yeah, great work JJ our saviour. Any way, you can't call the introduction of the NST 'reform'. It's evolution. "Evolution" by going back to the same old tinpot clubs he tried to destroy 20 years ago, to save soccer in Australia .... nice. Yeah I guess it's more of a 'renovation'. Not doing anything new. Just some new timber floors, a coat of paint and maybe some new lighting. Foundations are still the same though. Nothing wrong with a renovation though. Let's just hope they do the whole house and not just the kitchen. Im hoping for more of this: and less of this: Or could end up like this.....
