Seems to be the place to go if you’re too good for NPL but not quite good enough for A-League as we’ve seen with the likes of Dylan Murnane and Tete Yengi in the past. Kaine Sheppard is another who went from NPL to Finland before eventually getting an A-League opportunity.

Former A-League players Juan Lescano and Logan Rogerson also play there currently.

I guess finland will have to do for now as our nst

Mabil scored a pen

He actually scored 2 pens. Had a look at the Sparta Prague FB page & there are a lot of negative comments about his general play since the start of his loan. Hopefully this gives him some confidence to get back into some form.

Tom Rogic hasn't started a game for West Brom since January - but now his manager has revealed a worrying injury concern is behind his lack of minutes

MORE: bit.ly/3naF3qZ

Nerve connecting back and hamstring. Just can't feel comfortable or go at intensity.

Souttar bench. He looks pretty hunched and down tonight.

Everton up with an early penalty after gross negligence from Castagne with that shove in the back. Just terrible. Interestingly left back and wither signing Kristiansen has made way for Thomas. But of a refresh because Kristiansen has played well I think.

Soyuncu just equalises it. 1:1.

What a half of partly thrilling and sometimes hopeless football. Leicester lead 2:1. Maddison just put a penalty down the middle only for Pickford to guess it and parry. A cross saw a slight touch by Soyuncu bring it to Calvert Lewin a metre in front of goal only to kick it left at the stranded keeper. Vardy excellent to then lob the ball over Pickford but against the bar.

I'd just hate to think how Souttar would get pinned if he'd nudged it into Calvert Lewin's path at point blank (he didn't score amazingly) or the Faes header which served up the goal. Just goes to show it can and does happen to everyone.

Pickford getting half a hand to the first goal was a reflex effort but the way it got all put on him is pretty unfair.

Just right there at the death. Faes gets it in hurls it high and wide. They're really not exploiting the lethal passing Souttar provides. Sure, he'll have the odd defensive lapse, the others did tonight too and you'll hardly ever win every dual but it's evident that Souttar's passing and imposing figure on set plays needs to be milked here.

Reality is Souttar made a few mistakes and was at the back for their massive losing run, so you can see why he was dropped./

cant see Souttar starting again this year... considering Soyuncu is out of contract in June yet they still playing him.

All to play some dumbass friendlies against Ecuador. Just let them settle first fuck me dead this happens ALL THE TIME.

Nothing to do with him playing Ecuador. If Rodgers stayed he would have played every games. Dean Smith & John Terry came in & rather go with Soyuncu & Faes for 2 CB.  Dean Smith did play him tho the first game in charge vs Man city (with 3 CB).

Personally I still think Souttar should have stand next to Soyuncu instead of Faes.

Yes and especially the height advantage of having Souttar right next to Soyuncu should be perfect. No idea why they go with Wout Faes?

Coming to a new team and trying to create a new CB pairing is extremely difficult to do mid season. Coming back to oz for two weeks when he could of been working on combinations at Leicester has put him at a disadvantage. end of story.

The good thing with the amount of good options to choose from is the profile of midfielder will become more important going forward.

No point having a tone of No.6s or No.10s if they do similar things because we will have a dysfunctional midfield to work with, that's why someone like Genreau getting game time is important because he offers something different in between the lines as a forward passer controlling type.

If we break it down we need a No.6 or No.8 that can connect the runners like Irvine and McGree with players like Baccus or Devlin who offer alot of energy in defending, Mooy becomes very important for the Asian Cup but we need more players that could control and progress the ball forward like he can.

Someone like O'Neill has potential as well otherwise Genreau is good for that role, even someone like Brimmer could be interesting as well if can play deeper. (He plays as a defensive No.10 for Victory anyway)
In terms of Olyroos D'Arrigo, Nieuwenhof, Trewin and even Hollman could be useful options down the line that could be progressive midfielder types.

But this is probably the only missing link in terms of a midfielder we need outside of Mooy whom is getting old.

yeah at the moment I'd like to have o'neill as a genuine screener, Mooy has to be in there somewhere and genreau is playing at the highest level. That might first irvine of all people out

niewenhoff is already knocking on the door too. If brimmer can recapture last seasons form he was as well. Mcgree can play in the front line if needed, but is a #10 and Hrustic when fit is another player that has experience at the highest level

With the Asian cup squad I rekon a lot is going to depend on the start of next season. Players will.need to make smart moves and be playing week in week out at a decent level.to get into the squad.

I think we'll see a bit of movement this offseason from the a league so it will be interesting where people go and if they play.

It's fantastic to see Genreau getting game time.

I have high hopes for Nieuwenhof as a technical centre mid. I think he is more than just a number 6.

He's probably had his time in the NT but Luongo's form has also been strong and he'll be at a high level next year.

It's good to have options.
