+x+x+x+x+x+x+xI know a lot af fans love him but I think the Josh Reynolds PR experiment has run it's course. Unfortunately grub is not delivering near enough value to warrant further selection. His heart and soul is with us but the game has evolved beyond his capacity to keep up. With KO starting we are missing an opportunity to bolster the bench. When I say bolster do you mean another forward or a different utility???… Our forwards are getting dominated. Maybe "dominated" is a bit strong. In the absence of forwards that can do the job I thought that spreading the workload is another alternative. Use players we can get good minutes out of on the bench. The likes of Morrin or Brown come to mind. Dominated is fair… Thats the question for mine though,.. utility or muscle… any tichs one box… though I am a fan of Mortons effort, he ain’t really muscle… I think most of our forwards can do the job for a period of time but can't sustain the effort. That's why I don't think we can carry a half and small minute players on the bench. We of all teams need to get maximum value from the bench. Sharks pack has some smaller players, but they are mobile enough to get bodies in all of the tackles. Panthers have a fast linespeed, and all work together. We need a starting pack with these attributes, mobile, fit, fast linespeed and work together. After the first 20, we can give some guys a rest, guys coming off the bench don't need to be as mobile and fit, the game will slow up. D. Fifita is the major danger, get defenders in the frame, gang tackle. We started the season with good numbers and moving bodies in our attack. But we've fallen back to bad habits again where we are flat footed with only the receiving forward running the ball up. It's easily read and easy pickings for the defence. Need a reset and refresh after this Bye to get back to players in motion style of attack.

Calling it a PR exercise can’t be right… if you think Gus and Cc picked a bloke for some nice stories you’re kidding yourself…. He added value in game one, off the bench where the pack was on top… not so much when starting and the pack was dominated… Dont forget any Brown had that spot but got injured… and will likely jump ahead of JR again… So, harsh call on PR exercise… and JR in general…
Yes, Inlive him, but I’m right…
So you don't think that giving JR a top 30 spot was maybe a little over adventurous? All decisions are made in the prism of time and without making a judgement on whether the decision was correct or not it was a valid option at the time I still think he is the best ball-playing halves player we have tried this year. Certainly the most eager and doesn't go hiding when he should be getting his hands on the ball.

MDog, I believe most refs do their best but are under instruction from the governing body, and blokes like Sutton and Cummins get a little over zealous and thoroughly enjoy pumping some teams. With the amount of hip drop sin bins being exhonorated by the MRC maybe it's time the sin bin be only used for professionsl fouls and incidents during the game that cause serious injury to other players due to foul play. So for a hip drop that's not really a hip drop just put the player on report penalise them and move on. Let the MRC handle it.... that's what they're there for.

However, whenever an opposition pack has dominated us, and they have had the majority of the ball, we have been smashed. Manly, Souths, Canberra, Warriors. When we have defended well and moved the ball in attack, we have looked good, Storm, Dragons, Tigers (first half) Even when their attack is clunky and the opposition has more ball, the Panthers still win games. When their attack fires they win easily. Apparently the side is training very well, the problem is getting that training form to show up on game day. In our position, one win can turn it around.

I agree, penalty and on report unless it is odvious foul play. Repeat infringements, back chat, time wasting, professional fouls, odvious foul play, all sin bins. If a player is seriously injured, use the time to check carefully for foul play, but sometimes serious injury can be an accident. Most intentional foul play is odvious, sometimes an accident is also odvious, very few gray areas without some level of reckless behaviour. Yes reckless resulting in serious injurty also a sin bin, players need to be professional and in control.

Certainly the most eager and doesn't go hiding when he should be getting his hands on the ball. Yes, when we don't want a brain explosion, he usally delivers what we don't want. The problem is with his defence, not his attack. But in attack KO probably has a higher ceiling, has 10 seasons of NRL ahead him and is a better defender. Kicking game, KO, Grub and Flanno all below par. Once we accept that KO is the better halves option, it comes down to who is the better bench played and Nu Brown offers a lot more in attack and defence IMO.

This pitch at Suncorp is attrocious...
They really should suspend all.activuty on it for a good month, returf it and get it ready for the SOO game.
They can't keep playing on it expecting it to recover.

And when it gets to MRC, they should make a determination if it was an intentional drop on the legs or accidental. If they still can't tell, just consult with me. I'm good at telling if it's intentional or not.

They don't have players that can play eyes-up footy. They think they've trained well because of set drills. They believe because they have executed the set drills to a high completion that should equal a good performance on game day. But it doesn't. And that means insufficient players that can read a game and react. Trust me... I'm a Dr.

‘Has eyes for’… is this Northoea at 2am on Saturday night… Just cos you don’t always follow the ball doesn’t mean you are not anticipating (correctly) where it will land and adjust your eyes the last minute… Dum, dumb, dumb….
it’s interesting that the refs can’t adjudicate on intent, except when they can adjudicate on on intent…

+xSo the presstitues are lauding the ref ‘overruling’ the bunker… so I guess we don’t need the bunker and never did???.., I said the exact same thing about Canberra taking our players out but the refs didn't want to help us. It was the correct decision last night...but doesn't change fact we were robbed v Raiders...and again by definition all decoy runners are illegal...they are offside..so doesn't matter left shoulder right shoulder...they are participating when in an offside position
