Stoked for the win. That was a classic Bulldog comeback against adversity. This is what we all wanted to see...... a gutsy effort right to the final whistle and they didn't disppoint, plus, they got a win. As far as the officiating goes the NRLol and the match officials and their boss need to be released and replaced with personnel that understand the game and can ensure the rules are correctly complied with.

I've always said, that just before the bunker makes ANY decision.... They should apply the "common sense" rule and only if their decision still stacks up, only then should they enforce it and go public with it.

It's an embarassment that common sense doesn't even come into the equation with these Muppets.

Same goes for the on-field ref. He had every chance once he stopped play to send Mahoney off for HIA, to ask if it was foul play that caused it and yet he didn't. The Muppet.

I assume people online saying all our points came from luck or were a fluke missed the Burton break???…
The Avo try was desire, not luck or a fluke…
The other couple of trys were opportunistic, and if we didn’t take those opportunities the same people would crapping on the team go that…

We scored 2 flukey opportunistic tries from kicks, 1 well created one (Burton break) and 1 in between. You'll take that on any given day but we almost depend on those flukey kicks.

The bigger concern was only 1 real line break (Burton) in the whole game.

I've been a fan of JOK for a few years and always felt the attacks on him were alittle over the top given this team has been at the bottom of the ladder with so many other issues.

It's clear that he is better suited in the forwards but I reckon his versatility to be able to plug a hole in the wing can make him invaluable to a team if they want to play a 4 man forwards bench.

He made good metres today after we were completely dominated in that first half. It's not the first time he has changed the momentum. He also offers a Nanai or Luki type kicking option on the tryline which others don't.

I'm glad many others have now realised he is someone we should persist with and develop.

The negative comments against Okunbor were justified because up until recently he was absolutely ineffective. The switch to the forwards has changed his game for the better.

How I see things is, the Burton bomb is a unique weapon, we can scrore points even when we are not dominant.

Line breaks will come when Karl gets up to speed, we get Kicks back, finish on top in the forwards or put Wilson at fullback.

The next step is for Karl to run the ball more and Wilson to get more game time.

Perhaps getting Pele match fit, Patolo in the side or some other change which gives us more punch.

Averillo, Preston, Burton,  Fox and Kiraz are dangerous ball runners.

Sometimes Maroney needs to just concerntrate on giving good service.

No bunker. If on field  referee uncertain he can use big screen to confirm  his  decision. Video should not be a prop for referee. Referee's performance should  be  judged  on his ability to make  a decision  not give an opinion.

True the refs are only there ensure there is no foul play and the rules are used to ensure the game flows as designed.

Only 3 games from first place after a terrible run with injuries.

One of the worst I’ve seen…
Thommo, Kiks, Foxx, Pangai the main ones…
Then throw in either missing a game or there and playing busted King, Sutton, Kiraz…
Throw in Burns, Patolo…

Many detractors only seem to think we’ve been missing 2 blokes…

I always wondered why they persisted with him on the wing. It was so obvious that he was a middle/edge forward. Ciro saved his career by making an obvious choice.

I think our attack will work much better we Kicks is back.

Preston can switch back to the right and is the ideal player to run off passes from Karl.

Burto doesn't have great passing, but mostly Kicks just needs the ball.

Marhoney has good passing in the middle especially when we have more punch in the forwards.

Edwards has a good short passing game.

Not that he is that bad, but Preston is the odd man out. A fullback has to be great at running and passing. His running is good and is passing is ok.

Sooner or later we will have some troops back in the forwards.

He put in a great performance at a great time.

Not easy being the main man in an understrength pack.

I'll be cheering on the Fox and TPJ.

Hope so…
Youd like to think he takes enough out of last weeks game to see how important his attitude and effort means to the Teams success…
If his origin selection is the reason or adds to his understanding that’s great…
Congrats to both him and Foxx… Next year, Burto displaces Romy!!!… And Lou jumps Bunt and Hairy…

Only 3 games from first place after a terrible run with injuries.

Wrong.
It's 3 winning games with every other team losing.

Which is equivalent to about 15 games the way we are playing.

Some perspective here please Steve.....

Interesting, nay typical you didn’t see fit to respond in kind to the post about 1 win behind 8th, and in equal eighth but for a disgraceful refereeing decision against warriors…

You came in here on Saturday night before half time in the tigers game crapping on about how we were last with no mention of bye or game in hand (some perspective here  please Mockstradamus)…

So using your typically convoluted maths and percentages, half a cup of ‘Im leagues greatest mind’ add a dribble of how great am I as a kids coach, a sprinkle of I only watched half of the games half live for the last 5 years, and a half teaspoon of the shit you simply invent…  that’s gotta be like .00016754322 wins from 8th…

Which is OK for a team you’ve claimed only had two players that matter out this year…

So it’s actually 2 wins behind 1st…

And if results go as per the bookies figures, and with any luck, as most Dogs fans would hope,  your $1.6M mate doesn’t get a flat or slightly inclined track this week we move to 10th/11th… 1 behind 8th… and I think it likely Canberra,Manly, Roosters, Warriors, and Titans will probably lose a game or two before the end of year…

So 2 points, carry the crap, divide by ego, subtract I coach kids squared equals kiss my ass…

The nain point is we are close enough to feature at the backend of the season if we are good enough.

Same can be said for all teams.

CC has said that he would like 1-2 more wins, but the start is ok.

At this stage of the season how the team is playing isn't that important, it is all about collecting the 2 competition points regularly enough to stay in the hunt, and it doesn't matter how we get the wins.

I also agree with CC, we have started 5-6 games well and 5-6 games poorly, we haven't put 80 mins together but have had patches of good footy in most games. When we are playing well we are often dominant in attack and defence, mostly we are lacking consistently good last tackle options.

Can we put it together for 80 mins?
How good is our best footy?
Can we string a run of 80 minute performances together?

No one knows, but my opinion is that 80 mins of our best footy will win against most teams.

Most pleasing against the Titians was how well a lot of our young players went and the 5 guys I have in mind have a combined experience of no more than 20 games. In most cases those young guys are getting better every game.

Three things that I noticed from the game against the Tits.

1. Edwards was good enough filling in at dummy half, we don't necessarily need a specalist 14.
2. Okunbor continues to be very good in the middle - consider starting him.
3. Morrin is a much better source of energy off the bench than grub.

Edwards, Okunbor and Morrin all help turn the game around.

For the 14-0 lead and the last Tits try, their points were well executed, so good attack rather than poor defence.
Our first half attack was ordinary, but we had limited ball and opportunity.

The 2 penalties for offside of the kick chase seemed harsh to me.

There were about 5 times the players and crowd were baying for a 6 again and we didn't get one of them.

Assuming that everyone is back from injury, Kicks and Preston odviously start, I would also start Okunbor, King and TPJ as the middle forwards.

I would try Burns replacing Alamotti at least for a few weeks.

Bench
14 Edwards
15. Wilson
16. Thompson/Sutton/Hughes
17. Patolo/Pele/Wardell/Morrin/Nu Brown

For 17 I tend to favour guys that can play in the middle or on the edge, but we want a player with energy and impact.

For 16 I also want a guy who can play long minutes and make lots of tackles.

Bottom line - I don't think that our side is far off being very competitive. Injuries have allowed CC to experiment and find some good options.

For Perham, his energy and work rate save him for now, but he needs to be better at cleaning up kicks.

Edwards, very impressed definite keeper. Hard to tell from TV but seems to have bulked up a bit from last year.
Okunbor, much improved. Not sure what his potential is,  but he will reach it in the forwards not on the wing.
Morrin. Definitely more bench value than JR.  I think  he could develop versatility to cover a number of positions.
We must recognise that with a salary cap and a top 30 you cannot  have stars everywhere. The best you can achieve  is to get the best value at all points in your salary cap.

Yeah, having Edwards as a ball playing lock gives Ciraldo an extra dimension to his attacking plan.

Why on earth would you want to move Edwards out of lock???…

Not moving him out of lock.

Only plays dummy-half if Lou is injured, sin bin or HIA.

If Lou is out from the start, play another hooker.

A consideration is Lou plays 80 mins most weeks.
