+x+x📣The AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 will be held from April 15 to May 3, delayed more than 3 months from the original schedule due to conflicts with the 2023 AFC Asian Cup held also in Qatar. 🗓 The Qualifiers will be held in early September 2023. The draw ceremony of the Qualifier will be held on May 25th. Outside any FIFA International windows, right in middle of A League season. Not long before actual Olympics either. Hopefully we can get a full squad as we would need it to qualify. Hope arnold takes the reigns of the team the olympics is one of the biggest tournaments to qualify for

The #Olyroos have been drawn into Group I for our #AFCU23 Asian Cup Qualifiers 🚨
To qualify, Australia will need to finish as group winner or one of the four best second-placed teams for a chance to play for a place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Men's Football Tournament.
Played from September 4-12, these fixtures will be hosted by Tajikistan.
Cool to get to play Laos. I think the last time we played them at all was when Ange drew with them leading to the Foster interview :D
This is only qualifying and then we have the Asian cup itself. I believe the 4th placed team has a Playoff against and African nation.

The Young Socceroos were very close to qualifying for the U20 WC, which is underway in Argentina. The Aussies only lost 4-5 on pens after 1-1 aet draw with Uzbekistan. So it will be interesting to see how they go as a proxy for us being at same standard roughly. Uzbeks are into the round of 16, along with South Korea from the AFC. They play Israel and Ecuador respectively in the Quarters. Japan were 3rd in group on 3 points (but were lowest ranked of the 6 3rd placed teams), Iraq last on 1 in theirs. CONMEBOL (Sth Am) has 5/5 teams through to round of 16, UEFA 4/5, AFCON 3/4, AFC 2/4, and CONCACAF 1/4. Fun fact: the Golden Boot winner in the last edition in 2019 was Erling Haaland ...

To add to the June football frenzy, the AFC Women's U20 Asian Cup 2nd round of qualifying starts on 3 June to decide the remaining 4 places in the final tournament next year. The Aussies play Lebanon on 3 June, Iran on the 5th and group hosts Vietnam on 7 June. Top 2 go through.

U20 WC semis will be Uruguay vs Israel and South Korea vs Italy. The two traditional powerhouses have been very good this tournament. Israel the surprise packet beating Brazil. South Korea just beat Nigeria in ET.
