Surprised by that. Kulusevski isn't the type of winger Postecouglou likes- too slow. Perhaps he'll play him deeper as a playmaker.

+x+x+xWith all the adulation for Ange - and I too am thrilled that an Australia is coaching in the Premier League for the first time - are there any others who have a slight sour taste of how he left the Socceroos Australian national team just months before the 2018 World Cup? Yes. Never explained why he left. It must be very rare in world football that any other coach turns their back on a World Cup after qualifying. Reading his book, I thought Ange was a strange guy. Players thought so too. He's not strange. He is is ruthlessly ambitious. We were inches from not qualifying with the last kick of the game to Syria. No-one was expecting anything from him in 2014.. but another zero points and negative GD in 2018 would not be a good look for him, and that was a distinct probability. Exactly this He jumps at the top of the curve every time If he'd gone to the World Cup he'd have a sacking on his CV and be back A-League hopping Popovic should have looked and learnt to do the same.

+xSurprised by that. Kulusevski isn't the type of winger Postecouglou likes- too slow. Perhaps he'll play him deeper as a playmaker. I think Maddison is more of an "Ange" signing but dont think Newcastle will miss out due to funds... Needs to sign Raya or a another keeper first IMO.... Son has reportedly been offered obscenely filthy money to go to the "Dustbowl Collectors edition tournament pty ltd" apparently.. Wonder if he will go, seems like he is a pretty focused player who is loyal to Spurs????

Moving forward, decent replacement. Hopefully our European run will improve (alongside our squad getting a wee bit stronger). Edit: We also manage to convince all the backroom staff to stay put and not travel to North London.

This one could get dicey if Spurs try to block the move and Son wants to cash it all in at the twilight of his career, he turns 31 next month.

They're 8th and have very little bargaining power. They desperately need; - Goalkeeper - Left sided CB - Number 6 - Number 10 Kulu is not an Ange signing and they are also considering Longlet who is too slow to play a high line. Doesn't look like Ange is getting backed in the transfer market at the moment.

Ange took Brisbane from a top 6 side under Farina to just avoiding the wooden spoon in his first half season there. Brisbane were rewarded in the following seasons for their patience. Ange jumped from MVC who already had a strong squad. Yokohama, like most Japanese sides have decent patience. At Celtic Ange was able to rebuild without too much pressure because of the small number of competitive teams. Will Spurs have patience. I hope so but I have my doubts. If he is there at the start of next season then I expect the 2024/2025 season to be quite eye-opening for lot of his naysayers. Just worried about EPL teams penchant for not giving managers time.

He will most likely get sacked by Christmas and before you say "look at Celtic", the two propositions couldn't be any dissimilar. Tottenham are giving Ange a rusty old sports car and telling him to be a mechanic and restore it to its former glory. All the while the teams around him are buying brand new sports cars.

Wouldnt worry about it too much guys... With the rate that the Saudi league is doing business this summer, Spurs may be the only club in England left with a full squad .... lol

+xThis one could get dicey if Spurs try to block the move and Son wants to cash it all in at the twilight of his career, he turns 31 next month. Son wants to stay. Isn't interested in the oil money on offer. +xSpurs have just pulled our of the Raya deal. They're 8th and have very little bargaining power. Brentford are wanting too much and Spurs are being Spurs by not offering enough. If Munn is part of the decision making. I'm sure they will meet somewhere in between. The rest is pretty accurate. They might get Maddison over Newcastle because his wife is about to pop out twins, so family reasons are a factor.

It's probably unrealistic but Kyle Walker looks out of City.

There are only so few who who are assured their gig in the EPL, Pep easily, Kloppy, maybe Arteta the rest will all be on notice depending how their 1st half of the season prevails so I don't see Ange being set up for the fail for most are in similar circumstances. Only so few retain their core from this past season, Spurs is one that needed better buying the last couple years but it is what it is Levy living off Kane and he would know it for sure....... Look forward to our LFC game/s Ange.

The Kulusevski signing is weird. With Porro and Emerson there im guessing the 3-4-3 is out the window. Maybe he will play him as one of the 8/10s?

+xSon confirms staying at Spurs. I read that Son questioned Oh at length about Ange while on international duty. May have been a factor in his decision. I think Ange will do well at Spurs but there are certainly some massive obstacles in his way. Will be interesting to watch - even for a die-hard Gooner like me.

It is still too early to know how much Ange is going to be backed. The reports seem to suggest Edmond Tapsoba and James Maddison are quite likely to join along with Vicario. I think these signings would show some intent by Spurs to improve the squad. Vicario seems to be highly rated in Italy but still is a bit of risky It looks like Kane will be there next year as well
Someone suggested that full backs might be needed. Emerson Royal and perhaps Porro or Spence can cover RB. Udogie seems like he might be first choice LB and Reguilon might be given another chance as well. Udogie might be too much of a wing back but apparently had a very good season in Serie A at Udinese.
One problem is that Tottenham have 11 players returning from being loaned out a lot who will not be part of plans, plus a whole lot of defenders who they seem like they do not want. So they could need to get rid of more than 10 players.

Tottenham are in advanced talks with Leicester City over the signing of midfielder James Maddison. 🚨
Sky Sports News understands there is “cautious optimism” a deal can be struck.
