Interesting but we've seen it all unravel before. Hopefully there's a high prospect of games for the reserves or academy. Does he request an immediate League 2 loan? A full year of first team football is needed. At the same time these EFL clubs are all becoming pretty ambitious and aren't just handing out games to loan players these days. AMB went below the EFL for a year and that seemingly paid off. Despite the A League being the higher level, the amount of available football in England is almost double.

Here's hoping. A lot of young players to bigger named clubs this window. Wonder what Tyrese Francois will end up doing?

Would it be safe to say Mariners would have received in the vicinity of $2 million for their transfers this window (Triantis, Silvera, Cummings), whilst Melbourne City would be in the region of $4 Million (Tilio, Bos, Glover)??
Thats great business and a really good sign for the league.

Thats great business and a really good sign for the league. Especially in a league where the salary cap is around 2.4 million I believe. Throw in Kuol and some other mid season moves the mariners had and they’d be around the same amount as city. Fantastic business for both clubs

Alou Kuol back to Mariners. Good I say. Top first season in the German fourth tier only for odd circumstances in the second year.
Don't think it's fair to say he's come back with his tail between his legs. Plenty more have falsely persevered and jeopardised their career. Good to get out early.

Is it me or heaps of players getting decent moves?
Effect of not getting pantsed at the World Cup? 😂
or have we actually been developing talent? 😎

I wonder if Alou is coming back on loan or permanent transfer.
If permanent transfer and he signs on for a few years, I can see us generating another transfer fee for the same player.

Adding the ones involving a pro club or clubs playing in a top flight to the OP. I must admit the only player I've heard of out of those is Alec Vinci and that's because he made his one and only CCM appearance against us in the Cup.

There is next to no chance ISL players will get Socceroos callups. Don't kid yourself. JMac has proven his might against Nepal. Any better team he has struggled. He is not a player that can make a difference and bring others into the game against teams like Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Iran. He has been given way to many chances on the back of being a prolific scorer in a dominant team. To use a cricket analogy he presents as a flat track bully.

And still he has had a much better club career than Cummings and is now playing in a much better league. Cummings won't get a callup again, the ISL move has ended his Socceroos career. Your CCM bias is definitely clouding your judgement here.

Finally a kid not falling for this Bundesliga bullshit. They just hording young aussies at this point... why? who knows.
More kids need to have balls like Alou and just realise it wasnt a great move and get out of there before its too late.
Imagine if Italiano was tearing it up in a-league last year? might of sneaked into the WC team.

I think people forget just how raw he was when he left and he unfortunately hasn’t kicked on at all in Germany. He’s done the right thing in returning home to get regular football, now he has to keep improving and developing.

if alou can standout in the a league he could at minimum be a good squaddie for the roos.
Our best mids, gks and wingers have played in the big 5. Our best cbs and fbs we have produced have been a level down. The best 9s a level down again. Not sure why we struggle with this position, but at least at the moment struggling as a 9 in europe is not evidence you can't make an impact for the roos

Stamatelopoulos has re-joined the Jets. I rate him and I think he could well be a very shrewd signing for them. Still don’t think he’ll help them avoid the spoon though unfortunately.

Maybe Scotland or Norway are worth a look. Still game time at the Mariners and being cummings replacement might be the best thing for him
