2-1 victory against Oakleigh at home for Esteban and the first team though...... woweee that was something pretty special. Marcus' goal in the 92nd will long live in our memories.

A HUGE thank you to Esteban and the lads for the whole season, whatever happens on Sunday we are truly grateful to have had these last 3 seasons of excellence.

Finished 2nd, 1st and 2nd in the regular season and now onto our 2nd GF in a row... not bad :)

Just a point of annoyance from me, in past decades when players won these awards, they were elevated to the next level. In todays football structures they would and should be recruited by ALM teams.
They are ready made players to advance to the next level.
I don't understand why they won't be.
Is it for lack of scouting?
Is it for some form of football snobbery?
Three top of this tier footballers, ready, experienced and proven.
Lopez in particular is the quintessential modern goalkeeper, one and one situations, shot blocking, positioning, high balls, can play out of the back with quick feet, and can go with the long ball with consistent accuracy, also understands when to play quickly and when to slow the game down (tempo).
I'm not sure if in other states this is the same case.
Anyway thats my beef for today.

Its not our home game mate so not sure how this could be accommodated... valid suggestion but it IS only a friendly so doubt anyone there would be keen to watch that over an actual meaningful match. Ill catch the replay when i get home (OR just the highlights if we somehow jag a win and end up,,,, celebrating a bit hard)

Was at the game today supporting south. What a shame some of those Avondale fans ruined the day. How dumb can 40 or so African descent people be, charging into south Melbournes cheer squad. Hopefully wasn't anymore drama after the game.

CT sacking had nothing to do with Aleague aspirations at the time, happened way after. From memory CT was going to continue with the NPL squad management as per his contract and RC was going to be the Aleague squad manager if we were given a license...... why do you ask?

Sorry we disappointed you mate.... deja - fuckin-vu.... Decent season ruined by a very very tame GF appearance AGAIN!!!!.... Gutted for the boys who tried their best but just couldn't put away our chances.... Credit to the anti-football that Avondale played, they got their GF win and well deserved.... Markovski may think he is some sort of Guardiola but is still the worst piece of shit in VIC NPL.... just a grub. 

As for the African rent-a-crowd for Avondale..... Such a silly bunch of boys... There was a bit of handbags and I saw a couple of them walk away with more wounded pride than anything else..,. a few fell on their asses pretty easily.... Proud to say that cooler heads from our lot (and yes I was one of them) helped defuse the situation and send them on their way... Blue Thunder Security, as always, are fucken useless and let a bunch of young angry guys march past another bunch of young angry guys FFS.. The rest of the crowd was great...I think my rumour that Avondale is "gathering the Italian clans" may be true as they brought a good couple of hundred to the match and there was even a giant Italian flag,,, they chanted and were loud, credit to them if they get accepted in the NSD they may get a following and I would certainly relish having another crack at them.... 

Oh well thats it for the season..... FORZA HELLAS.
