Thanks for the congrats Sportaddict and NicCarBel the support.

My Aussie mates are all disappointed too.
We all grew up as school kids and watched countless socceroo  matches together and they can't believe that my 42 years in Australia, being Naturalised back in the early 80's still doesn't make me Australian enough for Fifa.

Jarrad Denham the U17 Joey manager said Noah doesn't qualify. He maybe wrong though.
Noah got his Australian citizenship and passport via the "Decendant" rule.Being my decendant.

By the way Jan Zimmermann,Kevin Trapps goalkeeper trainer came and watched Noah training on Tuesday and spoke with him.Wished him well for the National camp starting this following Monday.
Fingers crossed the National trainers like him and that Noah survives the first cull of boys.

Yes, that's the way it should be.
FIFA have stated in their documents a couple things that should be the case:
  1. Citizenship that is gained by law without a residency requirement counts
  2. The only proof of citizenship for FIFA eligibility is a passport
Sounds like Noah meets those requirements.

For what it's worth, I ran the scenario through ChatGPT (it's usually pretty good with technicalities on documents and contracts etc, and arriving to a solution:
I asked:
A man moves from France to Australia as a young child with his parents. After living in Australia for 40 years (and becoming an Australian citizen in this period), he moves to Germany and has a child. As this child is the child of an Australian citizen, but born overseas, the child is an Australian citizen and passport holder.Using the relevant countries citzenship laws, and FIFA regulations and statutes regarding eligibility to play for national teams, what countries is this child eligible to play for?

This is what it spat out:
The eligibility of a child to play for national teams in international sports, such as FIFA-regulated football (soccer), is determined by a combination of factors including the citizenship laws of the relevant countries and FIFA regulations. In the case you described, the child of the man who moved from France to Australia and later to Germany has a complex situation:

Since the child was born to an Australian citizen, they are automatically considered an Australian citizen. This means the child is eligible to play for the Australian national football team if they meet other FIFA eligibility criteria.

Australia: Since the child was born to an Australian citizen, they are automatically considered an Australian citizen. This means the child is eligible to play for the Australian national football team if they meet other FIFA eligibility criteria.

The child's eligibility to play for the French national football team depends on French citizenship laws. If the child's father maintained his French citizenship when he moved to Australia and if the child was registered as a French citizen at birth, they might also be eligible to represent France. France allows dual citizenship, so holding both Australian and French citizenship might be possible.

France: The child's eligibility to play for the French national football team depends on French citizenship laws. If the child's father maintained his French citizenship when he moved to Australia and if the child was registered as a French citizen at birth, they might also be eligible to represent France. France allows dual citizenship, so holding both Australian and French citizenship might be possible.

Germany: The child was born in Germany and is eligible for German citizenship through birthright. If they have acquired German citizenship, they would also be eligible to play for the German national football team.

FIFA Eligibility Rules: FIFA has specific regulations regarding the eligibility of players to represent national teams. These rules consider factors like the player's nationality and previous international appearances. It's important to note that FIFA's regulations can change over time, so it's essential to consult the most up-to-date information from FIFA or the respective national football associations for the most accurate eligibility criteria.

In general, if the child holds multiple citizenships, they may have the option to choose which national team to represent as long as they haven't played in an official competition for another country's senior national team. However, the specific eligibility criteria can vary, and players may have to make a formal declaration of their intention to represent a particular country in international competitions.

It's advisable for the child to consult with relevant football associations and legal authorities in the countries involved to determine their exact eligibility based on their specific circumstances and the current regulations in place.

Geez Mostar have come back and it's 4:3. What on earth! I've seen two goals and not really much Ryan could do. Well taken third. First could've seen Ryan get to the post from a wayward free kick. Not one mention of him on twitter so I'm going to hope it's just a wild comeback. Wild indeed.

Meanwhile.....

Kamil Grabara’s wife shared various insults and death threats that she received from Galatasaray supporters after comments made by her husband last night about Galatasaray’s stadium being a "shit hole".

https://twitter.com/dplus_sportDK/status/1697610268493435046?t=4wb8vQbfrfLYtNGJp9ROuQ&s=19

Came across this recently too. The bloke is such a piece of work and devoid of any grace. He's signed for Wolfsburg already 9 months in advance and his head is totally gone. Copenhagen fans not happy. Both goals conceded in Turkey saw no use of his apparent attributes of height.

Geez that’s some effort putting that together.
I did keep my French nationality too by the way and Noah’s birth is registered in France.
I .just  need to go to the French Consulate to apply for his passport.Just never bothered as he already had an EU passport.
I probably need to write in detail to Fifa to get some clarification about Noah’s situation.

Again thanks for putting that together. It was interesting reading what the AI’s thoughts were on the matter.

No surprise. Even when he playing for the national team he often go hot & cold. Never feel comfortable with him.  He will be blamed for this loss for conceding 4 goals

mate congrats first and foremost to your lad, thats commitment and I'm sure the support he has recieved from Mum and Dad.
Must be pretty proud on that call up despite the intreging and interesting politcal FIFA rulings.

Agree on Many Ryan he had a shocker especially for the 1st and 2nd goal.

But outside of Ryan and Genreau we dont have many that playing in European competitions at all.

Only one in Genreau that is playing in a top 5 euro league too, so hopefully we see some progression with some of the lads plying their trade in those lower tier leagues.

The more that are playing at a higher level the better it will help the Socceroos.

Great to see Bos back & playing 81 mins. What wasn't great, was seeing O'Neill sitting unused on the bench against the team at the bottom of the ladder.

It's the engine room so hopefully rotation will happen. When Mullins got linked I feared it would put him to the bench. It doesn't seem like he's done anything wrong rather it's that deep midfield role where he may not be passing the killer ball or winning every duel. It's somewhat a thankless position where if you don't notice it, nothing really bad has happened but you also need to really look at times to see what blokes do in that area. As an adult I can totally appreciate what Grella and Culina did. As a teen, forget it. Where's the flair? :D

6 is also our weakest position at youth level I think, along with rb and gk. So we need him to do well. It could be a while before someone really shines in that position

one silver lining at least is a league is now good enough prep for international football that someone can always come from nowhere and do a job. It is about to get better too over the next few years with a nsd to put pressure on weaker players and expansion to make sure it goes a real season length

That’s pretty cool. I wonder if 4 Aussies have ever started a match together at a European club before.
