+xEasy to see who they want in the GF. Warriors were robbed of any chance. Twice Broncos got penalty’s straight after Warriors scored. Plus the numerous missed forward passes and offside calls.

+xWas not that long ago I think four years ago Broncos just pipped us out for the wooden spoon . Look at them now and where they are .. Broncos had a great forward pack but had too young a side. Adding Reynolds was an easy fix. Walsh was the icing on the cake.
Compare Broncos to us a few years ago. They have better players in almost every position. They just lacked experience. Adding Reynolds would have helped us but not nearly as much as them.
We desperately need a Payne Haas and Carrigan type front row. Hopefully we can find some good young juniors for that. We also need an experienced game managing halfback.

So now that the dust has settled, what do we have to look forward to for the next six months.... It's either the non stop dribbling from the Pampers fans or the non stop dribbling from the Gronco supporters. Either one are going to be very hard to take, I might try to switch off sooner rather than later.

I agree that forwards set up the win and it is the area where our team is lacking. I don't think we are aiming for a fast rebuild or that one player can turn the team around. The Flegg side made the GF a pipeline of good young players brings sustainable success.

Still Warriors had a good season, the score in that game didn’t indicate their effort and quality. At least the GF will be a contest and it is hard to pick a winner.. I hope Panthers win, there are some good guys in that side, Broncos egos are overdue for deflation.

Apparently the young halfback O'Neil has a good kicking game. With Flanno moving on, it will be interesting to see if Hayward and BBO are here next season. At different times, I have rated both of them, but so far they haven't progressed like I expected, injuries have been a factor. O'Neil captained a GF winning Flegg side and was man of the match, has some NSW cup experience this season.

Last time we won the Flegg GF was 2003, 20 years ago.
It would be interesting to see who was in that 2003 side, probably some of the last Dogs juniors to play NRL.
Our 2009 U20s side was good with names like Barba, Idris and a few others, only a few of them had a long term career at the Dogs.
I think at least 4-5 of this year's Flegg team has played some NSW cup. The next grade down HM is also strong. KO played in Flegg and has played NRL.
Running the club is easy work out how many Flegg players are playing NSW cup next season and also how many of them will be top 30.
IMO KO stays in the top 30, Marshall and O'Neil walk in, there are a couple of young outside backs who are contenders and who scored try's in the Flegg GF. A couple of other forwards who played some NSW cup this season.
We are almost back to developing most of our players. The Flegg team is the foundation stone of our future success.

Bronson Xeri. What a beast. Should be a superstar for us. I’m super confident he will pay back the club for giving him a chance.

So 100% of the smartest Dogs fans agree.
I'll call Gus and tell him that we have made a decision.

Loving ads for jobseekers that claim ‘Work with us and be who you are. We foster a culture blah blah, diversity is our strength whether it be thought, race, religion, LGB… etc’ Then goes on to say must be up to date with C19 shots….
Sooo… we love diversity, just not that kind of diversity… scroll past granny killer…

The only way people could think Hutch is a 13 with Mann at 14 is if they only watch those players once or twice a year… ie against us…

Good on Freddy stepping aside… I wonder if the same decision would have been made with a multi year offer???… As for NSWRL… was it an offer they knew he’d reject???… cos a 1 year extension was too much…

I think that we might be letting a few lower grade halves go, Hutchinson might be the backup halfback. With a young guy as 3td choice. Mann might be a 14 who can cover backrow and centre.

Freddy was never a good coach. Terrible at club level. He got lucky with great players at times but his teams never played smart footy.
We need a great coach to beat Qld. Not a great ex player.

NSW finds it hard to match the cohesion and desire of QLD.
Typically players lose confidence and make mistakes under pressure.
Too many players are tried for one game out of position then discarded.
The coach has to pick and stick, build team spirit and desire and not get too funky.
The biggest problem the NSW coach has is the Sydney media. The Sydney media have played a role in 50% of QLD wins and 100% of NSW disasters.
The Sydney media are good at what they do, creating a disaster then twisting the knife afterwards.

How can the NSW coach handle the Sydney media?
It is best to ignore them and repeat the messages he wants to send.
Message 1 - we are representing NSW and trying to win, if you are a supporter then support us. If you are a critic we will strive to prove you wrong.
Message 2 - we take no notice of delusional old drunks in the media and will not be responding to their comments.

NSW has a habit of picking who "should" be picked for Game1, and then when they lose it, it's panic stations with team overhaul in Games 2 and 3. The media has the knives out no matter who they pick in Game 1 and pressure starts before a ball is kicked. It's funny to watch.....
