+x+xNational Second Tier update - as per Neal Symons, APIA Leichhardt Avondale FC Brisbane United (merger) Canberra Croatia Gungahlin United Marconi Stallions Melbourne Knights Preston Lions South Hobart South Melbourne Sunshine Coast Sydney Olympic Sydney United Wollongong Wolves Assessment and review phase is set from August to September indicative, with completion from September to October indiactive. Isn't Gunghalin a Canberra club? I doubt whether they'll award two spots to Canberra. Croatia unlikely to get in given they're already under a cloud for continuous bad behavior. Pity if no Adelaide or Perth teams are in it, without which would be hardly deemed a true NSD. How many men's Aleague "clubs" are there from ACT, NT and Tasmania Karen?

The $500k was in the form a Bank Guarantee that was required by 16th Aug, 2 weeks before Bid documents deadline (according to APIA) I doubt that's an issue now. Nothing would really surprise but EOI's got rejected for not following the timeline

I think they probably realized they have FA chance of being selected if that is the case. If they have submitted a bank guarantee then they must have accessible funds. I don't believe the banks would accept non cash assets to back up the guarantees, but I may be wrong.

Probably a shit-take but..... who knows? Interesting that they are planning a coaching appointment though???? 25 September at 15:54 · 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐰Sunshine Coast FC today announces that the agreement of our Head Coach, Daniel Carew, will not be renewed for the 2024 season. This decision was reached after careful consideration and evaluation of the direction of the Senior group, as the club continues to work through the 'National Second Division' process.Daniel has been an integral part of our organisation for 3 years, and we are grateful for his dedication and contributions during his tenure. We understand and appreciate the passion and commitment of our members and supporters, and we share their desire for a return of success on the field. As we look forward to the future, with our youth program turning full-time and the anticipated roll-out of the 'National Second Division', our focus is to strengthen the Senior squad to ensure we have a competitive and successful team for 2024, whilst also providing a platform for our talented young players to progress. If the National Second Division proceeds as planned, then we have to ensure that we are equipped for that transition. However, if the club are to start the 2024 campaign in the FQPL, this will also be under a new look set-up.The club has identified and been in discussions with a new management team, and we hope to unveil the new team shortly. We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Daniel for his hard work and wish him all the best in his future endeavours

Also heard that NPL2 and NPL3 in Victoria will now be named VPL1 and VPL2 in 2024???? I wonder what that means for a possible NPL/NST link?

Might mean that the NSD is just called the "National Premier League" Yeah but NPL1 in each state would still be a thing? Unless it then becomes, for example in Victoria NPL - (national tier) NPLVIC (currently NPL 1VIC ) VPL1 VPL2 State 1 N/W etc etc etc

Actually... that's a fair point. In Canberra, we renamed the NPL2 (which was previously known as State League 1) into the CPL - Capital Premier League. In addition, I think it was the same year, mens/boys comps went to First Grade > U23 (with 5 overage players on the field at any time?) > U18 > U16 > U14 > U13 (importantly, clubs don't need the full set, but if they don't they can either be 'Senior' [First Grade and U23] or Junior [U18-U13]) Womens/girls leagues have a structure of - First Grade > Reserve Grade > U17 > U15 > U14 (and I think the same Junior/Senior split)

Long overdue all States work the same way. The complications should be reduced as we move forward. Thats another whole prob in our country, one State does this the other does that not just re football. Thats a new VPL logo right ? looks good if so I like.

+xYeah exactly to all above.... All states being ion the same structure is the "Step one" we need :) I think it probably has a lot more to do with the NPL criteria being properly forced upon all state organisations by FA for the first time for next season - clubs were at risk of losing their NPL license - no more state federations turning a blind eye. By removing NPL2 etc from the the NPL umbrella they don't have to follow the NPL criteria and it allows each state flexibility in its lower divisions. Some clubs might not have been able to meet the criteria - certainly would be the case in WA - but our lower leagues have always remained "state league".

Clubs in NPL level with less than 30 undercover seats for example.....
