+xRighto, what's this rumour getting around that we may trade the Fox to the scum in a swap for Ryan Matterson? They're getting very chatty over there in the Eels forums. Say it isnt so...... Typical hack grub presstitute gernoulist… a complete nothing… From the article ‘Informal talks have involved a potential player swap of Matterson to join Canterbury with Addo-Carr’s future at the Bulldogs now in question. The Eels are desperately looking to add some much needed speed to their backline and will consider making an offer for Addo-Carr should he come onto the market.’ Hack Grub Presstitute Germoulism at its finest…

The good news that we have signed Josh Curran, the bad news is that the interior decorator wasn't fit enough to jog around the oval. Might be the end of smart players.

I doubt that the Fox / Matterson swap is true, but I would think about it.
Foxy is good, but Wilson, Kiraz and Skelton are also good wingers.
Matterson could help plug a gaping hole in our side.
The signing of Curran helps but we are still lacking size and experience in the forwards.
We may be able to get the forwards we need and keep Foxy. That would be the preferred option. IMO we have the money, but currently not many players are publicly on the market.
Behind the scenes most squads will be finalised over the next 2 weeks, some good forwards will probably become available.

Matto taking a 4 week suspension instead of a fine makes him a big no for me… and realistically one innocuous head knock away from being sideline for months… that said, he’s very good player…

Is it official???… Love Curran!!!… Very good D, and runs fantastic lines… Still plenty of time to land a bopper through some clever dealings… cos that the only way it can be done with none available… and clever deals take time… King Mahoney …….. Kiks Presto Curran Is a good start… The decorator reigned due to not enough wrestling…

Make knows nothing about the Fox rumours, and says Fox is very popular at the club. Not certain but I think Foxy will be staying.

Mase and his sidekick think Samon is a candidate for lock.
IMO both Curran and Samon can play lock and second row, At a pinch Curran could play a prop, if we are short. Samon can fill in the halves or even at centre..
We also have that other dude who can play lock and other positions.
We have added a lot of experience and versatility.

Gives us the ability to cover injuries and a lot of work rate. Giving up a bit of size, but good tackle technique can cover that. Curran off the bench or starting with Presto off the bench. No bench hooker, Manncrush or Salmon can cover, Bench, prop1, prop2, Manncrush, Curran. Just about sorted if we can find 4 good props. Options. King, Knight, Sutton, Patolo, Hughes?, TKO? I hope that we sign TKO and I would keep Hughes. Still lacking a bit of size, one more good experienced prop with size would be ideal.

Probably looking at
8. Knight 9. Mahoney 10. King 11. Kiks 12. Presto 13. Curran
14. Mann/Salmon 15. TKO 16. Patolo 17. Sutton
thats not a great pack. But there are a lot of high work rate players. We desperately need a prop. Maybe we can get one of the Saifiti boys from Newcastle.

Knight has plenty of promise… hopefully Maxy gets his mojo and offload back this year… TKO will do a job and kick goals while Burto plays back up hooker to Critter for the blues… Sutton not great last year but (like many) likely played injure most weeks… 1 big bopper would be lovely though… Will be interesting to see how Hughes and Edwards develop…

If we want a more physical high workrate lock, Marshall is a contender. I am now wondering where Hutch will play, he could play lock but there are lots of contenders. He could play in the centres but we have specialist centres who are faster. Off the bench Hutch covers the halves, but so does Salmon. Hutch could edge Sexton out of halfback, but Sexton probably has a bigger bag of ticks. IMO Burton, Crichton, Reed, Kicks, Presto, Kiraz, Curran and King walk into NRL team positions. So does Foxy if he stays. Taffee is too good to leave out. Knight and Sutton are likely selections as is TKO if he comes. Sexton, Salmon, Mann, Hutch and Wilson strongly pushing for positions. Xeri, Edwards, KO, Morrin, Sexton, Patolo,Skelton and Hughes all contenders. Most of the signings are experienced NRL players who have played recently. Xeri and TKO (if he joins) are possible exceptions. We seem to have less dead wood and fewer weak defenders, picking the team will not be easy. I don't think anyone can take their spot for granted. We have lost valuable size in Tmmmo and TPJ and questionable size in Pele. But realistically speaking those 3 guys contributed little to the 2023 season. TPJ was great in patches, very bad in patches.

Topine and Perham are other players who I forgot.
Perham potentially offers something as a centre, not a fullback, but not a bad player.

Cricket was good last night, young Kiwi dude is a class act.
Our bowlers need to adjust their plans, but we got there in the end.
First game that I have watched.

Geez those Bears people will try anything… Perth Bears North coast Bears Ipswich Bears NZ Bears and now Pacifica Bears…
They’d probably have more luck getting back in as the Las Vegas Bears…

There is a Bushfire leave immediately warning for Lucky Road Tara.
I would be inclined to ignore the road name and follow the advice.

AFB hopefully on his way to Belmore. If we miss out on him to either Dragons or Tigers we are really struggling. Gus needs to get him. Not many better props in the game.
With the rumours that Luai is also about to sign and maybe for next year too. We would push straight into finals and maybe better.

Would be a huge get if his head is in the right place… happy to stand corrected but didn’t he leave the Eagles for ‘compassionate’ reasons too???.. I can’t believe the crap coach Cleary said in the press re Luai…Id be pissed if I was … That said always thought Ivan was an arrogant prick, and still reckon is an ordinary coach that’s been kissed on the d1ck with a rainbow courtesy of his squad/son…

WTF happened to this country?!?!?!….
From article - ‘Victorians suffering from hay fever have been warned to stay indoors until Thursday as extreme pollen levels push across the state.’
Surely masks would be sufficient… bwahahaha…
