Yes mate, as you can imagine, tough for me with you guys top of the table. Glad to see Nunez scoring, he is a top class player will be firing very soon. Huge wraps on him, big, strong fast like Haarland, just not as consistent, but top top player.

Halloran header was pure class despite it being against my beloved SFC.
Have another look at Adelaide united, Johnny Yull was also part of the play that pulled the strings, Irakunda, had to keep reminding myself he is only 17 years old, he was toying with the defence, he has the pace, skill & awareness, it's really solely now up to him whether he wants to playing at the highest level, it's takes mental strength as we both know. But he is the best 17 year old I've seen since Kewell & Dukes. Big call, yes. will he make it, he has to work hard.

haha, tbh I expect you will have the last lol come end of season.
yep Nunez is a beast, once he settles himself more, its coming.

AU have always had the belly to encourage youth for years into their squads, makes for great viewing over the years and the promise.
Same applies to CCM.
G Kuol is another with the expectations like Irakunda, we wait and see what the future unfolds.
This should be the lead for all AL clubs unlike how many times over the years SFC have promising youth sit on the bench and in time the poor kid leaves.

jas88, I agree there is nothing magic about Angeball to me, seen it all before its just having the cattle invested in the gaffas vision and key players in positions as mentioned.
Comments by others, sure isn't suitable for NT for never enough time to work it nor some players suitable/can change their ability dna.
As for picking talent here, I suppose that could be said world over mind you, every scout or selector and like us see things in a player the way we like them to be and others not.
Our trouble more so is 1 Pro level and just X amount of clubs and a non feeding system, thats what should be thrown out to me but I understand its also a massive hinderance or can I say Disruptor in the big picture.
I won't say more.

No multiple divisions, no more than 12 pro clubs in the country, no domestic transfer fees and no federation run institute of sport certainly suits one foreign entity that runs professional football in this country doesn't it mate :)
The hearing date for the 115 charges is supposedly set for later Autumn in UK and may go till next year but change is coming.... slowly.

That same entity that gave Ange the chance to coach in 1 of the biggest clubs in the world.

What are you talking about mate, Angie coached at South Melbourne because he was a two time Championship player, a lifelong supporter and junior player at the club and was well loved and respected buy the board, members, fans and players.... :P

Firstly let me clear I'm not knocking the Ange BR side..

IMO the best club team to play in Australia ever & they changed the way football is played in this country.
As for Ange, the fact he is coaching one of the biggest clubs in the world shows his quality & I'm a HUGE Ange fan.

Now let address players, Joe Lolley & Robbie Mak from SFC, Tolgay Arslan Melb City, Marcelo & Antosson from WSW, Davila from Macarthur, Tulio from CCM (just left them) are just as good as the players you mentioned (maybe not Broich). Aussies like Azani ,Leckie & Goodwin from last year, youngsters like Teague, Toure, Farrell, L Brook & Irankuda (I have to keep reminding myself he is only 17 years old), he is the best 17 year old I have seen in the A-league.

Now Playing style, no doubt you prefer players who won all before them in Ange's years to the current team, just like I prefer the players from the Golden Generation to the current crop of Socceroos, but the playing style is different, it's very much more possession type game, look at Baccus & even O'Neill, their ball distribution is far better & faster than either Grella or Jedinak, though the latter 2 had other attributes.
I watched very closely the Adelaide United V SFC game in the Unite round the speed of the passing & the decision making intelligence of the players are far superior to Ange's team of 10 years ago. Funny you laugh at Halloran, from the same game, check out his header that set up the AU's big striker for his 2nd goal. This is what I'm talking about.

For many years our ball movement was to pump it long, Barcelona changed that world wide & Roarcelona changed that in Australia, we are now finally getting players with the ability to move the ball quickly (Xavi style), not perfect but heading in right direction.

Look at the players in midfield that can do that Baccus, O'Neil, Neiuwenhof, Yazbek, Mcgree,Teague & Jake Hollman.

What we do lack is creative attacking midfielders (at least in quality) & Strikers.

Hey, thanks for your reply. I laugh at Halloran because he’s always been a speed merchant with the touch of an elephant - yet he’s now league leading for assists. Seriously, I respect the guy as one of those who’s made a better career than others who had way more potential.

Your last comment about AMs and strikers has been true since the A-League began. Mooy and maybe Rogic being the only 2 in the last decade who would be considered an international quality AM. The A-League is yet to produce a striker who’s made it in a decent league.
The AM is usually the domain of the marquee or some other overseas player. Very few Aussies ever have the opportunity - Amini, Da Silva, and who else?
I do like the looks of Nisbet and hope he gets the opportunity to make the AM role his own.

Robbos,
observation last nights first half - Souttar was pumping it long quite a few times last night, worse mis judged over hit one now and then.

Yes imports have stifled chances for promising AM’s to develop in our league.
good point.
Whilst at it strikers as well.

LFC, I can only hope that they were playing tournament football & played to not lose.

Yes it was woeful some of those long balls, no creativity in midfield outside of McGree.
Hopefully Luongo comes back, Robertson or Volpato fixes the problem of the AM. Striker yes big trouble, as with our fullbacks.
